[UPDATED] WotLK European Beta invites NOT going out
Edit: This beta e-mail has been confirmed fake by Nethaera. Sorry for the scare, ladies and gentlemen. You can disregard the rest of this post. A few trusted Alpha testers are just having fun, apparently. That'll teach us! -Alex
According to Deathknight.info, European beta invitations are being sent out at this very moment. This is great news for all of our friends overseas! Please be sure to check your email to see if you've received one.
The above photo is from Deathknight.info and is an example of an email they have obtained. It would stand that U.S. invites are soon to follow, and that will mean those lucky enough will get to explore new areas of Northrend very soon.

More Wrath of the Lich King information as the night goes on...
Edit: I want to share an interesting fact a friend of mine found out during the wait for the U.S. Beta Opt-In to start a few weeks ago. He noticed that the Beta Opt-In accessibility started at 12:00 p.m. (noon) France time for the European servers. He then predicted that they would start in the U.S. at 12:00 p.m. Pacific time. He was correct. European beta invites appear to have started going out at 6:00 a.m. France time, and we can venture a guess as to when U.S. invites may begin: 6:00 a.m. Pacific time. Again, this is only a guess, but a good one.

I guess I should go sleep and wait for tomorrow...

Wait, according to the high email (at least the one seen in the high res shots) it isn't bound to account doesn't that mean it could be used on any number of accounts at once (by one person or shared among people) or even sold. If true bet that you'll see these on ebay soon.
Adam Holisky Jul 18th 2008 1:10AM
That's correct. They've stated this in the Beta Opt-In FAQ:

Eeek, hope I get one!

I take it you're referring to this part. Ok so it can only be used on one account but if someone gets selected and has either changed their mind and/or they decide they'd rather make some (alot) of money well if I don't get selected I'll definitely be checking Ebay and I'm betting at least a good chunk of the 10 million other players will be as well :)
Q: If I'm certain I'm already getting a beta invite from another source, will I be able to win another invite if I opt in?
A: Players may opt in to the beta even if they are already guaranteed a spot from another source. In the event you are selected to receive an additional beta invite, it may be gifted to a friend or family member.

Grats to all those fortunate enough to score one of these, hopefully the invites in the US will start going out soon.
Hansel Jul 18th 2008 1:43AM
Guy on deathknight.info (forums) claims this is a fake.
Adam Holisky Jul 18th 2008 1:49AM
This same guy has emailed us and posted on a few other sites, but he's the only one saying it's a fake.
We'll correct this, or any other story, if we learn the information is wrong. But until that happens, we're gonna stick to this.
philip.harkersmith Jul 18th 2008 1:43AM
Checking the picture of the email linked at the top of this article it looks like this invite was sent to the lucky player (bastard) nearly half an hour before it went up on the WotLK wiki site.
My guess, if you don't have an email by now (how long can automated mass mailing take) then you probably missed this round of selection...
Like me... *sob!*
Amath Jul 18th 2008 1:51AM
I looked into it, I went to the EU site and forums to check if other had gotten it, I checked the EN and ES forums and saw nothing about people getting them, so I have no clue about the authenticity of this email.
Kenzi Jul 18th 2008 1:58AM
This picture was supplied by a known Alpha tester. While I cannot confirm that the emails are going out in mass, I have no reason at the moment to think it is fake. If I find proof it is fake the post will be removed from DeathKnight.info
ScruffyPhal Jul 18th 2008 2:10AM
Don't Alpha testers get automatically invited to the Beta? Why would they get an email saying he was part of the random selection of players?
I suppose it's possible they are using the same form email out to all the Alphas and random selectees...
Wait and see I guess!
Procris Jul 18th 2008 2:23AM
Checked my email and no beta invite. Not really a surprise as i never got in Burning Crusade despite playing the game since release. I guess THAT many people opted in. Heres hoping they do more beta invites in the future.
z3rb Jul 18th 2008 2:48AM
This is clearly a fake. Because:
Look at the length of the Auth-code. It's not long enough to fit here:

:)
