Dalaran's now a hole in the ground
Kaydeethree over at WoWWiki posted a picture of Dalaran's old spot in Azeroth. It's now a gigantic hole with purple residue all over. The city has moved to Northrend, where it will be a pinnacle of Wrath of the Lich King. Click on the image above for a high resolution version.
This is really quite cool, and it's been one of the big mysteries of Wrath. It will be interesting to see what the NPCs have to say about its removal to Northrend. I'm sure we'll have that covered in the days ahead when we find out more.
Many thanks to reader Adam (no relation) for alerting us to this. Stay tuned! Lots of great Wrath coverage all weekend.

There's a video of it here - http://deathknight.info/2008/07/dalaran-and-the-hole-it-left-behind/ - with some of the surroundings of said hole.

I was intrigued enough to go check it out and...it hasn't changed on my server yet. The big globe is still there, same as always.

This is WotLK, Drew... your server is BC.
Drew Jul 19th 2008 7:57PM
Ah, that makes sense, thanks... Heh, I feel stupid now. >__>

It would be nice if Dalaran disappearing were added prior to WotLK, similar to the harbor being built.

I would love to see Dalaran lifting off, but I'm sure that's beyond the capabilities of the system.

Any news on the NPC's around the area that had a chance of dropping that Tabby Cat on horde side? And what of those near SFK?
Nice crater in general though.
Moongoose Jul 19th 2008 7:52PM
With so much of the ground taken with the city could that mean that Dalaran has dungeons or perhaps a basement?
RogueJedi86 Jul 19th 2008 8:00PM
We already know that Dalaran will have sewers.
Tasty Jul 19th 2008 8:41PM
There is a new arena based in the dalaran sewers that are , yes, connected to the new floating city.
From what I have seen too I think that the horde zepplins land in one of the sewer pipes
RogueJedi86 Jul 19th 2008 7:58PM
Judging by the pictures, I bet there'll be invisible walls(well okay, faint purple like the current barrier) preventing us from exploring the Crater. It's a shame, it'd be fun to explore.

I dunno - the bottom right hand corner shows a fairly walkable ramp.

"Many thanks to reader Adam (no relation) "
what? not all people named adam are related??? wtf.
seriously if his surname were holinsky id say "no relation" but first names? not even a retarded monkey with a coconut sized brain tumor would say " hey, there both named adam.. i wonder if there related??"
however, there is that case of george forman who is a retarded human with a brain that is not quite as bright as a tumor and he named all his kids george so i guess its possible.

Wow, what a complete waste of organic matter.
vlad Jul 20th 2008 12:57AM
clever
ZekeGrimsblade Jul 20th 2008 1:33AM
Much as I don't really like George Foreman, the main reason he can't remember things is because he's been hit in the head so many times, he's got brain damage. And when you could be talking about someone you deal with alot, it's good to point out that there is no relation.

What about the Horde quests related to Dalaran at Tarren Mill? Are they revamped? all the Dalaran mobs taken away? Or is it just some pnc talking changed?
gameleon Jul 20th 2008 5:24AM
AFAIK the dalaran NPC's are still there. Only dalaran itself is gone.
