Fansite awarded NPC honor
If you're a vanity pet collector you've probably visited WarcraftPets. Breanni of Scarlet Crusade, the master of this has clearly put a considerable amount of effort into researching non-combat pets. The site lists news and information on all minipets found in the World of Warcraft. The site features a small-pet FAQ, a calendar of events featuring vanity pets, a guide to collecting non-combat pets, and more.
Breanni is getting special recognition for her efforts in the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King Expansion. Breanni posted in the general forums that she will be getting an NPC Avatar in Dalaran. Care for all your pet needs with Breanni's Pet supplies. This is not the first honorable mention that the site has won. Breanni has also been placed on the World of Warcraft map, as created by Tim Howego.
Warcraftpets, may increase in popularity, considering some of the expected achievements due in the expansion. I would much rather see actual WoW community members immortalized in NPCs, than the likes of Harris Pilton. Congrats, Breanni!Filed under: Fan stuff, Odds and ends, Blizzard, NPCs

I must say, I think this is a cool move by Blizzard but aren't there personalities out there that deserve to be immortalized more? Where is Leeroy Jenkins (Ben Schultz) NPC? More importantly....Where the heck is The T NPC? I think that is what the fans of WoW are crying out for! :P
Gratz to Breanni though!

Well, Leeroy got his card in the TCG (and it has absolutely awesome ability on it - you get more attack for all your cards if you yell "Leeeeroooy Jeeenkiiiins").

Big gratz! I hope this inspires mod developers and fansite owners. I know that once or twice I needed info on a pet and used Breanni's site. So, this is a great reward!
Can't wait for the picture with Breanni and Breanni NPC :D
P.S. I think this "reward" should be extended to other people as well.

Heh, agreed. Name the gnome town's residents after addon authors *grin*

One name comes to mind, and one only -- Gutrot

OH GOD YES.
He deserves nothing less.

This is really great, a well deserved honour :) I'll definately come and buy some things for my pets, and give Breanni a /salute. Seconded on hoping she's selling some special pet bags though

Very nice. I have to say I expected another guy in-game though, but still gratz.
And with this precedent, I nominate 2 other fansite owners to have NPC names:
The Grand Master Fishing Trainer(or NPC who sells the book) should be named after El of http://www.elsanglin.com . A very helpful resource for fishermen/fisherwomen in Warcraft.
And secondly, I'd like for Gazmik Fizzwidget of http://fizzwidget.com/ to get his own npc too. Many of his addons have been integrated into WoW's client, and he even does his add-on site in character. About as close as you get to a in-character add-on site. He's the one I expected when I saw this article's title. Make him a Grand Master Engineering Trainer, or at the least an Engineering Supplies vendor in Northrend.

Druids call for "Alamo" NPC!
Still, congrats to Breanni. She helped me get my pet Firefly, after all. :D
ScorchHellfire Jul 19th 2008 6:15PM
well lets see leeroy got a card as did that one guy with the infamous forum post about staffs... and then that one guy who was the first to level a belf pally to 70 during the bc beta got a paladin trainer named after him... but yes blizz needs to step this up i think... many famous and infamous people of the community deserve recognition...
and gratz to breanni! that site is f-ing awesome...

LOL just what my bank wants to see, more of those little space hogging pets, LOL. Their like crack, once you get one they get the hooks in you and your done for for sure. I think I have spent more time, gold and RL money getting my hands on these then my raid gear. Takes me forever to decide which one I want to take along on raid night LOL. Of coarse their has to be some pre planning there so no two people have the same pet out, LOL.

Awesome move by Blizzard. As many crappy things Blizzard does to it's community, it's things like this that make me smile. She totally deserves this. Kudos, Blizzard.

Mania from Petopia needs to be a stable master, I think.

Seconded!

Congrats Breanni! And, a minipet supplies vendor? Selling "Rope Pet Leash" and "Fetch Ball"? Thanks Blizzard! Now, if only there were some better way to store my little friends than having them take over my bag and bank space like kudzu...

This is great! Congratulations, Breanni! I agree with the poster who suggested El as well, and Alamo (tree durid is 4 heel!). :)

A wonderful move by Blizzard. Breanni has done much with the WarcraftPets site to build and support the player community that appreciates this fun aspect of the game. I'm glad to see Blizzard recognizing her efforts.
