Of course we'll be able to forego the mana regen of Water Shield. Just bring a ret pally to raid (you DO bring a ret paladin to your raid, don't you?) and have them keep up Judgment of Wisdom. That's worth ~260mp5 right there. It's so much mp5 that, in fact, most shamans don't even see the need to pop Shamanistic Rage anymore with that Judgment on.

Water Shield is an extremely tiny amount of mana for Enhancement shamans. Not being able to give it up shouldn't even be on the list of things we're worried about.
