I'm not entirely sure I agree that it's going to be a nightmare to follow, however I can see the problems with the people who are trying to determine balance for the class. The problem I see is that it's easier to balance a class that doesn't have a lot of moving parts, the more moving parts there are the more complicated things become if you move anything. This change might be meant to simplify the balancing aspect. That being said, I still would have preferred a bit more freedom in doing the rune setting since that was a part of what appealed to me initially.
