There are three types of favoritism.Type 1: Merit based."We are taking 'Supermagegodpewpew' because we don't have to explain fights, he does great damage, and he is ready to go every night."Type 2: Elitism."He's in T5, you aren't deal with it. Yes he only does 600 DPS as a destro warlock on fights with no threat cap. But he's got better gear than you. No, it doesn't matter that the tankadin had more total damage than him last raid."Type 3: Buddies."Well, yes, he happens to be our buddy. Yes, he's not even kara geared, has no gems, or enchants and is in Black Temple. That's fine, he needs a little gearing up. What? You missed a raid once, so don't act like we owe you a spot even if you are our top healer and know your stuff."Type 1 is actually good for progression. If you can't bother with reading up on fight strats, having your consumables, and learning how to play your class, you shouldn't expect to be seeing higher content.Type 2 and 3 suck.
