Empire magazine is already
posting pictures from this weekend's ComicCon out in San Diego (WoW Insider also has correspondents there on site), and though they have no idea what they've stumbled across, it sure looks to us like what might be
DC Unlimited's Series 4 WoW figurines. And rather than just the standard player characters, Blizzard and DC are going a little NPC for this series -- as you can see above, they've included everyone's favorite elite gnoll,
Hogger himself. Also included in the series are
a Succubus of some sort (with what looks like a Tauren with a polearm in the back there), and
a gun-wielding Tauren Hunter.
The figures all have signs that say "Worldwide Debut Friday 4pm" on them, so it looks like we're getting to see them a little early. And Blizzard is excited, too -- Slorkuz has even
written a poetic ode to Hogger in honor of his likeness being immortalized.
We'll keep an eye out for more info -- looks like DC is expanding their action figure line to include a few more less traditional character types. Who else should they honor with a figure in the future?

The Lich King, definitely.
Trema Jul 24th 2008 8:20PM
Keep researching! That 'tauren' in the background is a Tuskarr!
Johrlann Jul 24th 2008 8:52PM
If you actually follow the link to the original article, there's a picture at the bottom of the Tauren hunter in question, and it's pretty clear that it's a Tauren even though it's not a very good picture. The obscured figure is something else.

Go to the link, it is def a Tauren with a gun.
Clasifyd Jul 25th 2008 8:22AM
The 'thing' behind the succubus is NOT a tauren. Yes, there is a tauren with a gun, but look at the 'things' toes. Yes, toes. Tauren do not have toes. =) I'm leaning toward furlbog, myself.

If you look at the hogger pick you can see the succubus's wing and of course the back of the other figure... it looks wrinkly like a walrus.. also you can see how broad it's back is and that it's wearing a tuxedoish jacket (furbolgs only wear beads)...
RULING= TUSKAR
Clasifyd Jul 25th 2008 10:37AM
You very well could be right on the Tuskarr. However, from the pictures I've seen thus far from WotLK, etc., the Tuskarr don't posses toes, either, but 'flippers' of sorts. Also, Tuskarr don't appear to wear 'tuxedos' either, which is also a very valid point for furlbogs.
One thing I have noticed though: Since the character is reared back to throw his spear, his face would be closer to the 'right', which would put it right about even level with the succubus boobie. From what I see, that looks like a furlbog face to me. I could still be completely wrong, but that's what it looks like to me. =)

Actually I think that might be a furlbog, not a tauren
Foo Jul 24th 2008 8:31PM
Or a Tuskarr like Trema says >_>

I like that Nixon from Suicide Girls is apparently selling herself out as an advertising whor--er model, now
chaosdoll Jul 30th 2008 10:42PM
Or, perhaps she's at the Genius booth promoting "Wizard of Gore" and "Hell Ride", both of which she is in, as are a slew of Suicide Girls?
vlad Jul 24th 2008 9:34PM
fyi, hogger is in northrend in beta. hes 11 elite again but now he's dressed differently.
Stoneblade Jul 24th 2008 9:18PM
I, myself, would love to see a Sylvanas figure...
Or, a boxed set of the Four Horsemen.

One too many slashes... but good find!

as someone whos played horde exclusively since launch, i really fail to under stand this sad alliance infatuation with hogger. its an elite, get over it.
Wolftech Jul 25th 2008 1:05AM
Still no Gnome Mage.. WTF?
makishima Jul 25th 2008 1:06PM
You got a Gnome Warrior wielding the friggen Ashbringer! No mage for you.
ninjasuperspy Jul 25th 2008 9:19AM
Hogger? Purchased. I made sure to beat him down every time my Belf goes to Elwynn to pick up another stack of Magic Candles.
Light, the work-arounds us Ret pallies sink to...
RetPallyJil Jul 25th 2008 1:57PM
I'm so buying Hogger.
Then my collection will be complete: Arthas and Hogger.
You need no other figures.
