Around Azeroth: Beta testin'
Despite what you may have heard, the life of a Wrath of the Lich King beta tester isn't always filled with action and excitement. Sometimes it's filled with, gulp, bugs! I can tell you from personal experience that life in the beta involves plenty of "World Server Down" and "Restart in 15:00" messages and some things plain don't look or work the way they ought to. What can I say? It's a beta and it still has some rough edges to be polished out -- that's the whole point of having a beta test! Nowhere is the game's beta state more obvious than in this shot by Ferin of Hakkar, who logged into Stormwind City to find... well, this. I'm pretty sure that this is a graphical glitch and doesn't mean Stormwind City, like Dalaran, has been relocated in Wrath, though I've been wrong before...
This image came to us straight from the Wrath of the Lich King beta -- and we'd love to have your beta screenshots, too! If you have anything our readers might like, sharing it is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. And, please, no more sunsets! (Well, okay, maybe if they are some really cool Northrend sunsets, we can consider.)

this exact same thing happened to me in ratchet on the dock. I logged out and when I logged back in I was falling until I landed in the Arathi Highlands. The funny thing is, it was raining barrens animals from the sky. But once I got close to them they disappeared. I logged out and in a couple times until the glitch fixed itself.

Death Knights can blow up the world? So OP.

It's beta.. wait for it.. test. You're supposed to be testing and finding bugs, not being cool, playing for free, growing your epeen.
There's still plenty of bugs in the live version, I've fallen through the world plenty of times and BG's have geometry bugs.
But yeah, fun screenie..

So, did you read the post at all, or just comment on what you assumed the post was going to be based on the screenshot?

it did on pre bc wow too. liz just had to let us all know shes got beta. soooo leet. thanks.
now really the server restarts in beta arent nearly as annoying as the blue "?" poping up after every single quest. hate it.

I could be wrong but isn't there an end user agreement towards beta testing in the likes of NOT posting images, movies, etc.??!! Maybe we could sit and wait before trashing the thing before it even comes out. Sigh

actually you are wrong
the NDA was lifted w/ the beta.
Blaurhg Jul 27th 2008 7:39PM
Nobody's thrashing. If I had to sum up what I've seen of the beta in two words it would be FUCKING AWESOME.
Also, no NDA.

my mistake then :-)

That's not so much a WotLK bug as it is just a general bug. I've had that happen to me a number of times in Shattrah. You can see everybody else moving around, but you're at a distance from it, and you'll just move in place if you try to go anywhere. I'm pretty sure it's just a latency issue, as when I used to play WoW with wireless(horrible idea btw) things like that would happen at least once a month.
