How to fly through the cold winds of Northrend

In fact, the ability or key to fly in Northrend, called Cold Weather Flying, is a reward from a quest chain obtained in Sholazar Basin at Level 77. The so-called attunement process for flying will actually even reward money, rather than cost anything. MMO Champion has screenshots of, and Wowhead has information on the ability and quest chain. It seems like the mad rush won't necessarily be to Level 80, but a first stop at the all-important Level 77.

Took you a while to troll, Vlad. You want more screenies, go to MMO Champion. Want the quest details, go to Wowhead. Says so right there. We're not trying to beat anyone to news (though that'd be nice), but report on what's happening with the game and occasionally provide commentary.

Bugger an blast that is a lot of whining! From the nature of these comments, the notion that a lot of Warcraft's player base is simply addicted to the game rather than enjoying it as an experience is a little more palatable.
Yeah you pay Blizzard a lot of money, but guess what: That money buys you the privilege to play their game, one that you, apparently, feel is worth the fee. Just because you pay for that opportunity doesn't mean you can just skip to the end. You also pay the university a mint, but I do not see them handing out doctorates on the first day just because you 'paid them enough already.' You have to go through the damn experience to get the reward.
The idea of a money 'sink' as some sort of insidiously hollow way to get people to keep playing is somewhat silly if you actually enjoy the game on the way there. The comments about people growing weary of 'the grind' at mid-expansion is ludicrous if you do... personally I am going to enjoy every quest, and every dungeon. Why the rush? So you can get to the endgame where you have bypassed ninety per-cent of the experience? If you are unwilling to even finish the game, perhaps you should re-evaluate if you really enjoy it or not.

Just because people do not enjoy the game in the same way that you do does not make them any worse or less deserving of having fun. You seem to think that everyone should have the same ideals and likes as yourself. Comparing education and a game is laughable at best, I don't even know where to begin on that one.

*nods* I agree with the commenter that said it's about game design. You don't pay to go to a movie and expect to only see the parts you like... you allow the producers to present the movie to you the way they choose to. If you wanna wait 6 months and fast forward thru the DVD that's up to you. They will prolly dumb this down later and you'll all be complaining about how YOU had to do it the hard way... barefoot, in the snow, uphill, and all that.

Newsflash people, you can't skip content. See that number up there next to your name? Yeah that's your level, if you start messing with mobs that are orange you are gonna get rocked. That's their system to keep you from skipping content.
I could ride at 60 straight from hellfire to nagrand if I wanted but the first random mob would destroy me so why would I?
This decision was made to impede your leveling, if you could fly around dodging shit mobs and land straight on the elites you need for bounty quests you might not get dazzed by 20 mobs on the way or waste 10 minutes running back to the quest giver only to have him send you right back out there.

TBH, I wish they would have left out flying altogether from WotLK and just added faster and more varied ground mounts.
BC was NOT warcraft. That was some rendition of a Rave and what outland should have been like mixed.
Granted the world is obviously magical, but there had to be those slight realistic aspects that made it slightly more human to all of us. In vanilla, you had to mount up if you wanted to travel anywhere. Avoid aggro, ride as a party, learn the fastest route, and experience a rugged and tough landscape. What'd they do as soon as you hit 70 in BC? Easy mode; just take this mount for 5000g that moves twice as fast as any ground mount above everything and fly straight.
As developers have stated WotLK was a movement back to the real rugged Azeroth and the medieval world warcraft began with, before these extraterrestrials and demons from other dimensions. In that spirit, have us riding polar bears, enslaved nerubs, and maybe some native creatures in Northrend. I'm tired of watching a fantastically lored game and franchise move from war between mortals, something that is relatable and something you can feel for, to a war between mortals, where we "storey-book" get together, and fight beings from destroying the entire universe. They made STARCRAFT specifically to do that.

I'm fine with it being "cold weather flying" over wing de-icers. Mostly because my nether-ray doesn't really have wings. My roflcopter has a rotary-wing, so that technically applies in addition to my drake.
