Around Azeroth: Dealing with dragons
As much as I loved the Burning Crusade, there was one thing I really missed -- dragons. After spending so many hours working on UBRS, Onyxia, Blackwing Lair, the world dragons, and all the neat individual dragon-related questlines, moving to the non-reptilian world of Draenor left a hollow spot in my gaming experience. So I'm very pleased that dragon-related questlines will be back in Wrath of the Lich King.
In this picture, taken by beta tester Menelven, blue dragonflight leader and creepy kidnapper Malygos hovers over the land of Coldarra, along with a few red dragons. Does Malygos look familiar? Well, he's got the exact same model as pre-BC bossman Azuregos. WoWWiki speculates that Malygos will probably get his own, unique model in time for the Wrath release, much like Sunwell boss Kalecgos.
This image came to us straight from the Wrath of the Lich King beta -- and we'd love to have your beta screenshots, too! If you have anything our readers might like, beta or not, sharing it is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. And, please, no more sunsets! Unless it's a sunset over Arthas's grave.

Wait, you had an orgasm for seeing models we've been seeing for 3 years???
You must be an easy to impress date.

No dragons? Who do you think you are working for in the Netherwing dailies? Who do you think rules the skys (as in will shoot you down) in areas of Blades Edge Mountains? Granted there are fewer dragons (probably because Gruul and his sons hunt them, notice all the dead dragons in BEM) and no dungeon bosses but dragon free? I think you missed a few areas in TBC.

Netherspite, Nightbane, and Felmyst are pretty dragon-like, no?

I think the author might have been referring to the original 5 Azerothian flights of dragons, which I suppose can be considered the main bulk of the dragon lore/storylines in WoW. Yeah its nice to shift the focus back to the main flights now.

I am a self proclaimed dragon geek, the big draw for me in BC was the ability to ride a draconic mount. The stuff here looks interesting as well.
Azshan Jul 29th 2008 11:51AM
There are also people riding those red dragons, if you look closely.

Decent graphics, an upgrade over BC. Blue crystals instead of pink, you know...

How's that no-spoiler filter coming btw?
