Barbershops live in Wrath Beta

It's a quirky design and it makes me wonder why only Goblins know how to cut hair throughout all of Azeroth. It was fun to tinker around with, but I became bored pretty fast. The new hairstyles aren't in, so right now it's almost like staring at the character creation screen but a little bigger and there's gold involved. It will be much more fun on the live realms I'm sure, because I am a roleplayer and doing this kind of thing once in awhile should be pretty fun. There's just very little reason to play with it for a long time on the beta realms, I don't much care what my character's hair is like there. For all I care, it could be made of snakes. Hmm, that would be pretty awesome, actually...
Well, I did experiment a little. I decided my Human Priest grew her hair longer since I rolled her in the first days of WoW's launch, so I picked a longer hairstyle, purchased it, then decided I was bored and wandered off. Until I came back to take screenshots for you all, of course. All in all... yeah, boring until the new hairstyles are in or I'm in a spot to care. Bummer.

I'm guessing that's beards and the things for the races/genders who don't have facial hair, like nelf females' face patterns.

I'm floored. A post that isn't total unquestioning praise on Blizzard's behalf? Haven't seen one of those at all this year.

"Human women can change their piercings..." -- which implies that men cannot. that is my question.
Juneau Jul 29th 2008 1:32PM
Since when have men had piercings?
Badger Aug 1st 2008 4:30PM
Pierced tongues, pierced noses (imagine a Tauren's nose-ring), and occasionally a pierced ear.

its great to se wowinsider gets almost ALL its news from mmo-champion these days.
wyrd Jul 30th 2008 11:45AM
Go away vlad. wowinsider is a news aggregate, they don't try to have the news first. just try to have it all.

Man, I'm so glad you can change facial features. When I first rolled my paladin, he had black hair and a 'normal' (i.e. youngish) face. Somehow along the way he got morphed into a gray haired and wrinkly old man. I'm looking forward to putting things right again.

Does anyone know if male draenei will be able to change tentacles on their face? would that count as a facial features?
Ametrine Jul 29th 2008 3:22PM
Draenei tentacles count as beards. So yes.
Also, both drae and tauren can switch out horns.

I know that for roleplayers, the real draw won't be the chance to permanently change their appearance, but to do something like, y'know, shave or let their hair down for a formal RP event (and then change it back when it's over).

I never understood why people thought the barber shop was worth the time and resources. They could be better used fixing issues or improving content.
RogueJedi86 Jul 29th 2008 8:43PM
Improving what content? This is a new expansion, being built by the expansion team, all they're doing is building content. Unless you already have a list of things in WotLK that need to be improved.

Try rolling a character, leveling to 70, then realize you hate looking at the back of its head. And that the best helm you can get is a halo.

I'd also like to point out that as of last night this was broken for death knights, my bet being because they implemented the glowing eyes
