Blizzcon ticket sale date announced

Not much Wrath information was announced at the WWI last month and we may see more at this year's BlizzCon, but with the beta in full swing and Blizzard close to launching Wrath, there may not be too many surprises left to announce at the event. We'll possibly see some kind of opening cinematic and probably talk of what new content is planned shortly after launch.
Still, there will be much to see and do at BlizzCon as we expect their usual blend of contests, hands-on demo stations, dev panels, goodie bags, tournaments and probably some big announcements for Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. One thing BlizzCon won't have is livestreaming over the net. For those who can't make it, DirectTV will be livestreaming the convention as a pay per view event.

Thats great, but what time of the day?

If you play your cards right - this trip should be free every year. New Murloc In-Game Item + Future Beta Key + eBay = two-way ticket to CA. : )

Good point. I live a few miles from the Convention Center and I've always thought the $100 ticket was too steep for me. Now that I think about it I might end up with some profit since I don't need to pay for hotel or travel. :) Thanks, I'll be camping the BlizzCon website now.

$100,- isn't that like €60,- these days?
if it is this is the time for us Europeans to abuse your economic weakness.

Yeah I suppose our recent 40-50 year reign has been long enough. Its cyclical though so I'm ok.

Hell Yeah! Go europe :P

For you continental types it's a good deal. If you're still under the Queen's Crown it's an even better deal!
I'm going to have to attend one of these... damn game won't get itself off of my computer. ;)

I'm in NY, anyone can tell me what airport is closest to Irvine, CA?

John Wayne Airport is closest (I think it is also known as orange county airport but dont quote me on that)
But any of the LA Area airports will get you there with a fairly cheap super shuttle.

The Event's in Anaheim though, so you don't want to fly to Irvine. Fly into John Wayne International. (LAX isn't that bad either, and likely cheaper for our International Friends).
You can hop on pretty much any of the shuttles that head to Disneyland from either of those airports, so neither will be more expensive to get from the airport to the event. When taking the shuttle, hop on the one that goes to the Disneyland/Convention Center Hilton or Marriot, as those are the two hotels right outside the convention center.

Adaroit,
The best airport to fly into is John Wayne/Orange County Airport. The flight path that I have found to be easiest (if you can do this out of NY), is to fly into San Fran, and then hop down to John Wayne. The flight from San Fran is roughly 45 minutes, and you get to avoid LAX (which I would do at all costs). John Wayne is a nice little airport and San Fran is also quite nice (just don't look out the windows as you land--the water freaks you out!)
I'm near IAD (Dulles Airport), and I did the IAD --> SFO --> SNA (Santa Ana/Orange County/John Wayne/whatever it's called this week). I did the same for the return trip, and it was quite nice. Rent a car from SNA, and drive to the hotel--wasn't a long drive at all (unless you get sidetracked like me and have to stop off at the malls).
If you stay in the Hilton, you're right next to the convention center, so you can come back to your room and crash for a couple hours and resume the fun.
(Note: The Hilton charges something like $12/laptop for internet. If you have a card through your wireless provider, it just might be worth the hassle of bringing along (this includes, but is not limited to: harassment at security, strip searching, questioning, etc..).)
And pack light...I did all carry-ons my last BlizzCon, but had to stop at Target to buy an additional duffel bag to bring the rest of my J!nx and Blizzard store purchases back home. FedEx is a distinct possibility this year (due to charging for luggage on flights) to get my stuff out to CA and back to VA.

QUOTE from ME: worth the hassle of bringing along (this includes, but is not limited to: harassment at security, strip searching, questioning, etc..).)
That's at the airport--BlizzCon = No laptops, no USB drives, etc.
Should have clarified that that's airport hostilities only...I can't wait for BlizzCon--but I hate airports :(

Silly question maybe, but I have never been to Blizzcon. I can only go the second day, can I still get the sweet swag on that day?
Biggles Jul 29th 2008 2:20PM
Based on last year - you can get the "official" swag 2nd day, no problem, but a lot of the vendor giveaways are wiped out 2nd day (or were in 2007). They were, in fact, wiped out after the first few hours.
michael.singletary Jul 29th 2008 2:01PM
I'd love to know what time of day the tickets go on sale as I'll need to plan my day around it as I did last year. If anyone gets an official word on when they'll go on sale please make sure to let WOW Insider know so that they can let us all know! :D
Spiraea Jul 29th 2008 2:03PM
If I was nearby (or had the money for the trip), I'd so be there.
Braundo Jul 29th 2008 2:35PM
As cool as it would be, there is no way that this is worth a round-trip plane ticket and days off of work.
