WoW Moviewatch: A look at Dalaran
Recently, the city was moved from Azeroth to Northrend. Since the move, it hasn't been easy to get there, but you'll find a gorgeous city when you do. With trainers beginning to populate the area and portals that take you to a variety of areas, Dalaran is shaping up to be a must visit destination!

I'd pay good money to have that be the background music that constantly plays when you're in the city.

Like I replied initially.
it's music from Gladiator, the credits to be precise.
I've seen that movie too many times :p

Hans Zimmer ftw when it comes to generic ethnic music.

It's awesome, but then I always knew it would be; after all, it was built by mages.
Soemthing I'd like to see, just for the sake of lore, is for warlocks to have to learn to disguise themselves as mages or something to enter Dalaran. Originally warlocks were banished ffrom the city, and it would feel a bit odd for them to just come back to it so easily. But then, Horde are allowed to trample all over what used to be a human city, so maybe homogenisation hoo.

I have a question about this. Does anyone actually know where Dalaran is? I know it is in the skies north of Dragonblight, but it is not on the Dragonblight map. All of the other cities are easily recognizable on their zone maps. Will Dalaran be added to one of the maps? Is there a map of Northrend online anywhere that shows where it is?
Braundo Jul 29th 2008 2:36PM
If I remember correctly it is flying over the Storm Peaks.
Goo Jul 29th 2008 7:18PM
Dalaran is located in southwestern Storm Peaks. It's called Shadowsong Forest. It's floating up in the skies and there's a teleportation crystal on the ground. Just follow the road from Dragonblight, turn left when you've entered Storm Peaks and you'll run straight at it.

Yes indeedy, dynamic shadows are coming to WoW in WotLK. I think there was an article on it here at wowinsider, but here's a direct link to a video of it:

Yup, shadows really make it look nice. Doesn't look like the buildings have had their shadows calculated yet, but they will. Check http://wotlkwiki.info/index.php/Graphics_Upgrade for more.

It doesn't seem northrend(ie) lol... It seems way to happy and peaceful... I can't really see my orc death knight on his frost wyrm there.
Other than that the city looks amazing.
