And a few level later they will happily switch their set for a more clown-alike flashy pink&green from BC.
Hurray :/
(unless the skin of items are modified if worn by a DK?)

True to a point, esp when you compare the shoulders to, say, the Jade Warrior Pauldrons. OTOH, the quest plate, unlike the cloth, doesn't look half bad. It certainly isn't pink, although you may have some red/blue and then those big green shoulders. That always looked odd to me.

I dunno where *YOU* have been gathering loot, but if I could, I would keep this gear all the way to L68, then head for Northrend. Hell, I probably WILL.

The pink part was a bit ironic, I was mainly refering to what happen to clothes wearers who look at best like jesters during their leveling in Outland.
But ok, let's admit you could keep these a long time enough to reach Northrend :
- where is the fun of upgrading your gear through leveling? Go-go 10 levels of brainless grinding?
- will Northrend offer a new DK set via questing?
I'm wondering how Blizzard would keep the DK "brand recognition" without some kind of reskining of the quest/drop.
