Scholomance to be revisited?
Everybody's favorite trash bin, Scholomance, might be getting a revisit by Blizzard. Late last week, CM Wryxian posted on the WoW Europe forums asking players for their thoughts on the expansion, and since then, people have given it a general thumbs up -- while Scholo has always had issues with too much trash in too cramped quarters (in fact, it was already revamped a few times to be tuned down -- it used to be a 10 man raid equal in difficulty to UBRS), players still frequent it, and they have really enjoyed the fact that it was a branching dungeon that had some pretty cool lore associated with it -- the story of Darkmaster Gandling and his school of Necromancy (and all the hot teachers there) is a good one.Of course, what Blizzard might do with the instance, we have no idea -- at this point, it's soloable at 70, but it still does provide a great source of Argent Dawn rep, and there are actually a few epics dropping in there now. Maybe they'll revamp it like Naxx, or it'll be the first "old world" instance to be given a Heroic setting? Or maybe Blizzard is asking players what they think about the instance because they're thinking of cutting it -- in order to introduce some new leveling content in the Plaguelands. The fact that they're asking about it at all means that there must be something in store for Gandling's old school, but what that is, we have no idea.

Someone else had it right- they need to retune Scholo and Strat to make them relevant to players before they hit 58 and go to Outlands where the greens are better than the blues in vanilla WoW.
Make both dungeons level 52-55 content, pump up the stats of some of the drops, and you'll see people run them again. Right now, after questing, etc, you're hitting 58 and there's no reason to run Strat or Scholo or even something like Dire Maul unless you have a mount quest.

I love doing the old instances solo on my Mage.
I've been doing Solomance runs for awhile now. I've been trying to get an Ace of Portals. So far I've gotten it down to 30 mins to kill Raz + 6 faculty + Gandling. Then about 10 minutes to clear part of the dragon room and Rattlegore. Ive netted one recipe for flask of supreme power which I flipped for 500g some random loot / gold / tons of runecloth and at least 8-12 BoE Tier0 (Whatever X tier) gear. Note: I haven't tried Jandice as some of the mobs around there are magic immune and I keep forgetting to grab my Dawn's gambit so I haven't killed Vectus. I have downed everything else though.
I also recently went back to one of my old stomping grounds: BRD. I used to solo some of that place at 60. I soloed Incendius and the Bar pretty often. But at 70 now I was able to full clear the Bar - everything in the bar. I was able to down the Salamander and the room of 7. Also downed Tharussian for the first time too. Takes a LOT of running. I think it took around 10 minutes and was pretty sloppy.
Anyways, It's just fun to go back to some of the Azeroth dungeons and challenge yourself.
