Breakfast Topic: What glyphs would you like to see for your class?
We don't know a ton about the specifics of Inscription and the Glyphs it supplies since the Wrath beta doesn't have very many of them yet, but we at least know what they are. If you don't know what they are, glyphs are almost like enchantments, but for your spells instead of your armor and weapons. Their effects are usually a little more substantial, even if they don't change combat very much. You're allowed up to six glyphs, split amongst the varying strengths of glyphs in a configuration that may or may not be the same come retail. We got a litlte preview of glyphs via some Druid glyphs that were posted on MMO Champion a few days ago, and they do some pretty neat things. Things like "your Swipe ability now hits 1 additional target" and "changes the appearance of your bear and dire bear forms to that of a polar bear" are both pretty big effects! That's only really the beginning of them, too.
Pulling a little inspiration from our friend Matticus, why don't we take a minute and make a few guesses at what types of glyphs our classes will get? Heck, even if it's unlikely we'll get it, what type of glyph would you like to get? Personally, I'm holding out for "Glyph of It's About Time - Increases the range on Mind Flay to 30 yards" for my Shadow Priest. A guy can hope, eh?

Longer Shadow Fiends for priests!
Also the green fire ones seem ok.

Glyph: 100% Interupt protection on Mindsear.
Glyph: Buff damage coeff... but remove slow on Mindflay.

Ghost Rabbit form for my Shaman
Rainbow Coil for my Warlock
Even when hit capped, there is still 1% chance for spells to get resisted, so when my Soul Shatter on a boss fight gets resisted it's really not a nice feeling, so maybe a glyph that makes Soul Shatter unresistible (is that even a proper english word?)?

FYI, irresistible :)

Closed mouth for bear tanks.

Yes! Thank you! In Bear Form my druid looks like he's done one to many feral charges and rattled his brain. Bear form needs to look more aggressive, not retarded.
Other glyphs I'd like for cosmetic changes... I personally think it would be friggin' awesome if some AOE abiliies like Hurricane would affect the weather during its duration.... A storm forms overhead and lightning strikes down.... =P I'd definitely get that glyph

The polar bear one will be awesome! Worth levelling a drood for that alone I reckon.

Notice how we Druids only want cosmetic changes,
not buffs.
And no, that is NOT because we are overpowered.
darian Aug 1st 2008 9:15AM
Notice how we get both?
By definition there are the lesser glyphs (cosmetic changes), minor glyphs (interesting changes) and greater glyphs (zomgwtfbbq changes).
So relax and think of some nifty stuff for both.

I'll be using the polar bear one for sure, even though my druid is Balance, but I wish they'd go further in their cosmetic options - my worry is that once Wrath comes out every feral druid will use the polar bear glyph then all bears will look the same again. I'd LOVE to see them adding two cosmetic glyphs for each of the forms, so we can actually have just a little bit individuality with three possible options each. For the Boomkins, for instance, I'd love to see them add a glyph to change the form to the reddish coloring of the owlkin in Hinterlands and another option to use the white and blue coloring of the owlkin in Darkshore.

I'd like a glyph that makes vanish work as the tooltip says it does.

New shadow form looks !
Mind flay capable of pushing back the target or pulling it like for 2 yards every tick. ( to balance that the casting wouldnt be inteupted)
Mind Blast puts a debuff on target reduces their concetration = - int - agi - spell and atack hit.
Levitate: alows to fly when using it only in outland or in northend at lvl 70 :)

As a warlock, I want my shadowbolts to be rainbows shooting out of my ass.
jbodar Aug 2nd 2008 12:19AM
LOL. "Target must be behind you."
Montius Aug 1st 2008 8:17AM
I know you will all probably hate me for saying this, but have fear a chance to jump to another target when it ends or is dispelled but increases the cast time and mana cost.
Mediator Aug 1st 2008 8:34AM
That's not even that overpowered of a request, if you look at some of the glyphs druid get, one of them converts a slow heal into a fast heal (probably a major glyph), so I imagine there's more game changing glyphs out there
As a shaman, I'd want a major glyph that functioned like mage's burning determination talent, immuning you to silence and interrupt effects for 10 seconds after you have been hit by one, although its unlikely that resto shamans got anything that made them good in PvP again :)
Zarfay Aug 1st 2008 9:10PM
Shaman totems are no longer attackable, now float around the shaman rather than being immobile and have their affects increased by 200%
finally shaman would be appreciated.
Dotixi Aug 1st 2008 8:22AM
I would like a glyph that adds a 60% speed boost to ghost wolf, which would make it equal to epic land mounts' 100% increase.
