It's Consortium gem day!

Yes folks, it's the first of the month and it is time for your trek to Aeris Landing in western Nagrand. Gezhe will hook you up with a loot bag containing random gems, some of which are quite profitable. Of course, being the swindlers that they are, they don't give out something for nothing.What you get depends partly on chance, and partly on how much they love you. Here's the breakdown:
- At Friendly, you'll be handed a Gem-Stuffed Envelope.
- Once Honored, you get upgraded to an Unmarked Bag of Gems. Unmarked bags never contain stolen goods!
- At Revered, you will be awarded with a Bulging Sack of Gems. This one always reminds me of
Santa'sGreatfather Winter's bag of goodies. - Once Exalted, you'll receive a Bag of Premium Gems.

3 green and a blue for me. However, I was surprised to see them available last night for pick up. I need to sell a bunch of gems soon though.

I believe that each reputation increment awards you with one additional gem over the last. And it seems as though the quality and the likelihood of obtaining higher quality gems is roughly equivalent to prospecting ore.
So for example, maybe honored would be what you'd get from prospecting Fel Iron ore 3 times. And Exalted is what you'd get from prospecting Fel Iron ore 3 times, and Adamantite twice.

One of the CMs clarified that Invites would go out "some time after Aug. 1," rather than the strict "Aug. 1" date that was taken from the original post.

picked up late on one just the other day and got 4 greens and 2 blues
today, one got 2 greens and 3 blues
the other got 4 greens and 1 blue
Overall, I am rarely happy with the what I get as it seems totally random, and the gems received seldom reflect our actual rep level. Come on!! One blue in a bag of premium gems!!! Give me a break...
Actually, I should open a ticket as the name for this reward is not accurate at all. Shouldn't a bag of premium GEMS (plural) contain more than ONE blue?!

Yeah, I sort've have to agree. I've met a ton of people who haven't had any idea about how rep with the consortium gains you these gem envelopes. I didn't know about it, myself, until last month. I've only been playing the game for a little over two months, lol, but still. I just hadn't heard about it. So, I try and get the word out to anyone I meet ,that doesn't seem to know either.

I'm only at friendly and won't grind higher. With luck, I can sometimes pickpocket a blue gem from the tame ogres in Bladespire Mtns.

My BE Lock just reached 70 this past week. I had completed all the quests in Nagrand except two (non-consotrium) and was looking forward to being able to get get gems on the 1st. However, it appears I don't have enough rep. I can't turn in beads any longer for Consortium Rep. Is the only way to get rep now grinding crystals?
