Increased lung capacity in Wrath Beta
While there's no definite word from a blue on whether it's working as intended or not, there's an interesting buff on the Beta servers at the moment: Everyone seems to have a much longer breath timer when swimming underwater. Whereas it took about 1 minute for breath to run out, now it seems to last for approximately 3 minutes.
In effect then, it's like everyone has gained the Underwater Breathing racial of the Forsaken. If it's a permanent buff and not just some crossed wires, it should make underwater questing (and there is some in Wrath) a bit easier!
Of course, I'm not giving up my Hydrocane just yet, either. It seems like a strange change to make out of the blue, and it does negate one of the Forsaken's racials, more or less.

Does this mean Forsaken now have 9 minutes breathing time?
Willias Aug 3rd 2008 7:50PM
Yes.

Makes me wonder why they don't simply make the Undead racial, unlimited underwater breathing, it's not like it has an impact anywhere outside the situational quest. Same goes for Dwarves treasure finding really.

"Makes me wonder why they don't simply make the Undead racial unlimited underwater breathing, it's not like [they have lungs]."
Fixed. =D

We prefer to be called Forsaken, less we get confused with the Scourge.

if thats the case i really hope Undead get a new "learned" racial. How about like learning to dispel there breathing underwater all together.
undead FTW.

Sounds like locks and undead are being stooged out of their abilities.
This may be fine for PvE but in world PvP situations the ability to breathe underwater adds a tactical advantage that is being heavily negated here.
As a random aside, I've noticed people tend to fight in two dimensions underwater - left/right back/forward and not so much up down.
Would make an interesting article I think... with a definite need to refer to the Wrath of Kahn.

World PVP? Ok, not to be mean, but all you have to do is stock the potions, or like me, carry Hydrocane all the time. And are we talking about World PVP or World Ghanking??
PeeWee Aug 3rd 2008 9:24PM
"but in world PvP situations..."
I loled so hard I had to stop right there.
There are no world PvP situations, this is World of Warcraft. It's either gankage (which is PvP just as much as rape is sex) or... well, that's the only option. You just had to whine a bit, it's ok, we forgive you.

as a druid, nothing makes me happier than escaping a ganking when i'm near the water and go into seal form = unlimited breathing and faster swimming with my tail between my legs FTW! hearing that they will be able to chase me does not make me happy, but at least i'll still be faster :)

So I'm not the only one who ran Gnomeregan to get that staff, hehe.
GormanGhaste Aug 3rd 2008 7:39PM
Indeed :)

I would much have forsaken learn some new ability than just get 9 minutes breathing time. Seriously, we deserve something better. Will of the forsaken, well, thats okay, I would prefer a skill bonus though.
Anyway, because of our long breathing, forsaken get left out when people are doing suicide swimming in TB, they just laugh and say "you take too long to die! go away!"
Gerb Aug 3rd 2008 7:37PM
...Omfg, You're the only race with 4 USEFUL racials, and you're actually complaining!?!
WotF 'okay' LMAO, it's still the strongest racial there is for most classes.
Don't even try to discuss it, as you know it's true.
Chris Anthony Aug 3rd 2008 7:41PM
...suicide swimming?
WOW players never cease to amaze me.
Valhalla Aug 3rd 2008 7:56PM
Will of the Forsaken is just "okay"? Last time I checked, it is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, PvP racials in the game. Try rolling a Night Elf and having fun with Shadowmeld.
Phoulmouth Aug 3rd 2008 8:21PM
Are u kidding me? ROFL
Wow players will complain about the most retarded things.
Roxton Aug 4th 2008 2:42PM
GTFO.
You're whining about undead racials? You idiot. Seriously, go take a running jump.

Guybrush Threepwood would be proud.
