A bubble-hearth ball? Inflatable Frostmourne?
Now that we know what they're giving away at
BlizzCon '08, it looks like it's turning into a kiddie party. Don't get me wrong, though, I think I would have a lot of fun poking people with a poofy little sword of unadulterated, soul-sucking evil. I think I'll even good-humoredly kick around a bubble-hearth ball, one of the game's long-running gags on my favorite class. There are other cool stuff, like
Diablo health and mana stress balls and Pandaren brewmaster bottle openers.
A while back, I asked what kind of
WoW-related merchandise and spin-offs you had or liked. Let's turn the tables this time around and pretend you could make swag for BlizzCon, or any Blizzard event like the
Worldwide Invitational (where they gave away keychains and door hangers). What if they gave away
Halaa Battle Token soaps? What wacky stuff will you make or like to see? Surely it can't be any zanier than an inflatable cursed runeblade.

I dunno about swag, but if I could design a special event in-game pet, I'd make a tiny Ragnaros that followed the player around on a little fiery cloud. Every once in a while he'd swing his hammer around and say "BY FIRE BE PURGED!" in a tiny little voice, and when you summon him he could be like "TOO SOON!"
It'd be so cute.

Yes. I want ten of these.

I wish Inflatable Frostmourne was an ingame item. I want to poke people with it ingame.

Here's a few ideas!
A) They could make a range of sweets that are in different shapes and flavours like the Gems in game.
B) A toy like robo-raptor etc they sell in shops but in the guise of a mechanical chicken!
C) Deathknight helm key-ring bottle opener with glowing eyes!

A flower pot in the shape of an Alliance Totem. (I'll never get over it, sorry.)

I dunno if this could be swag, but I'd definitely buy a nerf gun dresses up like one of my hunter weapons. I'd even by a nerf badge xbow. (who remembers that cool LoTR nerf crossbow they were selling a few years back?)

For The Kitsch List:
'life size' inflatable Void Walker Punching Bag.
Plush War Woolie Mammoth.
One Concept: Tauren Totem Croquet game. For more amusement, each ball should have a pally printed on it. ;-)
A'dal night light.
For the serious Co-brander:
Co-market Mt. Dew Code-Red in odd shaped bottles as 'Code Warcraft Mighty Health Pots'.
Hostess Snack Cake 'Mana Buscuits'
Long John Silvers "Golden Fish Sticks" and "Fishermans Feast"
Warcraft themed engineered Harley Davidson.
Bright Yellow 'Monster' Energy Drink in a square bottle labeled 'Thistle Tea'.

A dart board: Not just any dart board. A Prince Malchezaar one. Malchezaar is the bull's eye and the infernals are the darts.
Malkeior Aug 4th 2008 12:19PM
People would still complain that infernal placement screwed them over...

In a perfect bag:
Plush murloc
health and mana potions (drinks - hopefully sugar free)
Zerg keychain
Stress hearthstone
PvP token cookies
I win button
mana biscuit mini cakes=GREAT IDEA! ^.^
and I do want a Rag pet... it'd be so cool!

Non-combat pet gnome. And in spite of people who play gnomes, it would actually be a bit taller than player-controlled gnomes.
Jaynitan Aug 4th 2008 3:11PM
I would have to say a little figurine a la McDonalds happy meal of a netherwhelp with little flappy wings when you push a button on his back. This would be to unveil the non-combat pet RL collectables line they would announce. Better yet a crossover deal with McD's to release non-combat pets in happy meals.
Kittens, whelps, lobsters, aligators, oozlings. .. . .you could have a whole slew of them.
Even make Horde and Alliance only happy meals.
"Yes I would like an Alliance happy meal and a Horde happy meals to go please."
"That is one Alliance cheeseburger happy meal and one Horde chicken nugget happy meal, will there be anything else?"

The inflatable sword looks better than the real one. Looks like King Theoden's sword from The Two Towers.
jay Aug 4th 2008 5:29PM
I think a Frostmourne keyring would have been better, certainly would last longer that's for sure.
Stoneblade Aug 4th 2008 6:58PM
I'd want a cute, chubby, little mini-Abomination as a non-combat pet.
