I'm not sure what the machinima is actually about, though. It does appear to be heavily Blood Elf focused, so maybe it starts with their invasion in Northrend? I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

It appears to me that one of the BE's wanted to stay behind while another took off for Northrend near the end. I can't understand these things.
I can't understand that Gnomechewer dude's stuff either.

I feel that WoW's character modeler just doesn't give machinima makers enough room for good fight scenes.

Someone was inspired by the new watchmen trailer.
Maybe decided to go with that theme to make a trailer for their new machima.
Looks pretty cool.

There really isn't a story behind it (yet). It was just a test movie that he made to try out Adobe After Effects and shared with us on RP Haven. I do have to say that it's quite cool though, and I was delighted to see it appear here. Taken from the original post on the RP-Haven forum, the words of Vaalin:
"I spent two days working on this. It was mainly a test to see if I could handle Adobe After Effects. It's a really powerful program, and I'm looking forward to the next time I get to use it. The movie was meant to be longer, but frankly, my desktop is way too full of project files, video files, and fraps files.
Enjoy it, for what it's worth. I'll probably write up a story to follow the visuals later on."

Wow, let me first say, thanks for posting this.
As far as the story goes, Vaalin is a swashbuckler through and through, and he managed to acquire his own vessel through a game of chance in Booty Bay. Basically, him and his crew of rag-tags have been sailing to Northrend and this is one of the snags in the road there. Chronologically, he's already in Northrend and some interesting stuff has happened there through story form.
Sky Pirates are ebil.
And yes, I was heavily inspired by the new Watchmen trailer. I sleep with the comic next to my bed, die-hard fan. =D

The night elf clearly puts his sword right through the blood elf and he does not die. Yet the blood elf's sword doesn't come near to the night elf when it dies.

He was actually supposed to be dodging, and the Nelf's blade just sort of skims close to his body. >.>
