Barrens Chat: Revenge for all those missing hooves
I'm moving this weekend, and packing and cleaning all week, so this week's episode is a short one!
When I first heard that Blizzard announced the Recruit-a-Friend program was going to be giving zhevra mounts as incentive, I must say that I heaved a very audible groan. You see, we've already referred all the friends we can talk into playing, the last of which we drug into our mad little World (of Warcraft) not even a month ago.
So, after reading through all the things being offered as referral incentive, my significant other decided to make the suggestion that I start a new account so that he can have a zhevra mount. My response was something very similar to what you see when you click the banner. That and I had to torture the target of what I consider to be one of the most annoying quests ever. Two hours for four hooves is crazy, and I am apparently that unlucky!
See you next week!
Barrens Chat is a weekly comic strip brought to you by Megan Harris, who likes to pretend she belongs to a secret society of assassins. When she's not laughing at the misfortune of children, she's explaining why some people's Taurens shouldn't ride anything smaller than a Kodo. If she doesn't get packed into one of those boxes that say "Kitchen" and forgotten--you know, the ones people just never got around to unpacking?--a new comic will be up next week!

This makes two weeks in a row that you've nailed. ^__^ I'm glad that you stuck with it, and it's nice to see your art and your jokes improving!
Philo Aug 7th 2008 3:48PM
Did you just do a 'Tauren is too heavy for its mount' joke? Please. Stop. Making. Comics.
Ataris Aug 7th 2008 4:06PM
/agree

Stop.Being.A.Dick.

Growing up on the farm in Slovakia, when a goat got really, really sick... my mother would have to go get the rifle and put it down. That's what needs to be done with this comic.

Why in god's name are you still reading them if you hate them so much? It's obvious this style of humour is not for you (probably too highbrow judging by you grasp of the English language) so stop clicking the links to them.
It's obvious you only comment on these to troll. Save that for the official boards, please. WoW Inside is better than that.

This one is relevant concidering the new mounts available through the friend system. So it makes sense, and was amusing. Poor Zhevra. And boo horde getting another horde.
Saphia Aug 7th 2008 4:18PM
Another good chuckle. Thanks!

Philo, you've commented before on your dislike of this comic. Why the hell do you keep reading it and posting? People have seen your negative criticism, it doesn't help, and you're as hypocritical as could be - you continue to view and comment on something you claim to hate... Why don't you just not read it?

It's not like way back when the black plague hit people said, "If you don't like getting sick, then why do you get sick?" Eventually, the figured out a way to cure it. The same thing is happening here, only instead of the plague, it's a really terrible comic. Eventually they'll find a cure for this thing too.
Also, what's with the red eyed Tauren? I understand she wants to cater to the public and make a recurring character, but why red eyes? Not just eyes with red eyes, but pupil-less red eyes on a bloody hunter. You could get away with it on a death knight, maybe, but why are they on a hunter?
Warcloud Aug 7th 2008 5:42PM
Yes, people were purposely contracting the plague and then complaining about it. That sounds right.
Edboy Aug 7th 2008 5:54PM
You can't help but contract it. It creeps up on you and you have to see if it can suck more that it has in the past. Usually, the last infection was joy compared to the current one but it's an all around nasty, badly drawn virus.
Megan Harris Aug 7th 2008 8:04PM
@Edboy Have you ever made a female tauren? The face that has the white stripes on the nose has red (or reddish) eyes. It's likely supposed to be brown, but on every computer I've ever logged in from they're very red.
I'm under the opinion you're either a masochist, or you secretly love my comic and that's why you keep returning. So please continue to show your support! Thanks!
Kaljin Aug 8th 2008 1:24AM
No, Megan, the comic is really terrible. We don't read the comics because we "secretly like them" and if you believe it and don't listen, you need to take a step back and listen to reality. We read it because your comics are bad as in Car crash bad: So awful its impossible not to look. The jokes are old, and they suck. Come up with new material, or subvert common tropes and jokes known to WoW. And if you don't know how to subvert, I recommend you the greatest website known to man: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Tropes

This joke has somehow won at least twice in the WOW comic contest. It's really getting old.
drbubbles Aug 7th 2008 5:20PM
I loved it, keep up the good work =)
more female Tauren's plz
Raze Aug 7th 2008 5:22PM
Ooooh boy....
I've this nasty feeling she's going to make a got milk joke next.
Though this one rolls the too-large-for-a-mount Tauren into the mobs not dropping organs cliché as is.
No. This special brand of humor might spawn a Chuck Norris joke.
Chilblain Aug 7th 2008 6:10PM
I *love* the way you draw Tauren. So cute!
Edboy Aug 7th 2008 9:40PM
Nah, I'm just looking for a nerve to hit so that you stop making this terrible thing.
ILikePvPbuthatePvPers Aug 8th 2008 6:07AM
No one is forcing you to read them. Am I right asshole? But whatever, you're asshole. A loose, well fucked by a big dick, asshole.
