Breakfast Topic: Missed that one
I was surprised to find out, as I'm sure you will be also, that our own Zach Yonzon admits he has never actually run Deadmines at the level it's meant for -- he's always run it afterwards, to pick up gear for twinks or just to grind for lowbie stuff. Which means he's never felt the magic of getting stunned by Smite, or really pushed to take that Goblin Shredder down. A real shame, if you ask me.And it got me thinking: what instances have you missed out on at the level? At first I thought I didn't miss any -- I love running instances, and whenever I hit the right level, I usually run to them as fast as I can. But after looking through the list, I realized that I've basically missed out on Dire Maul -- I've only run the instance a few times, and then only for quests like the Mage water quest and the Warlock mount quest. I've never once run the DM Tribute -- I know, also a real shame.
So be honest -- what instances have you missed out on at the level? And why did you miss them -- did you just not need anything from there (including possibly XP), or did you never have a group to run them with? And have you ever gone back, or leveled up an alt to make up for lost instance runs? I'll definitely have to do something about that Dire Maul Tribute -- I wonder if I could run it solo with my 70 Hunter...

I missed Mauraudon, and I'm not too sad about it. Ran my friend though it later, and oh my got soooo long and annoying.

I would have to say...Gnomeregan. I've never run that place at the wanted level, nor have I run it more than 4 times...EVER. Yeah, I know the Horde leather pants are epic, but eh...not my priority

I think I can honestly say I've *never* been thru Gnomeregan...now or at any stage during levelling...

Gnomer is the worst instance in the game. If you run it with a group that is actually level appropriate, it can take HOURS and countless wipes.
It remains my most hated instance ever.
At least it could before they retooled the lower level instances.

Consider yourself lucky I think. I hate that place, always get lost. :(

It wouldn't be so bad if the device that cleaned off those gunk covered items you pick up could clean five or ten at a time. I always spend 20 minutes just jerken on that damn handle like a retired blue haired librarian at the slots in Vegas. Man I hated that.

I've never set foot in Gnomer. I have a 70 and am working on a 67 with a decent amount of other alts. Don't even know what Gnomer looks like...or where it is =P

So you joined late and got run through kara.
Good for you.

Only thing i miss is Shat'Ar rep, i need about 6k more for the head enchant. Spellstrike/Shadoweave+pvp epics was enough for Karazhan, yes.

Further proof that it hardly takes 'L33t' skills to raid endgame. It's all about who you know. Riding on coat tails FTW!

I'm not raiding BT/Hyjal in Karazhan epics, i'm talking about when our guild first started raiding.

I've got the same Dire Maul situation as you. On my old realm pre-TBC, nobody did instance runs to any part of that place - I'd joined fairly late in the original WoW cycle, around the time the AQ gates were opened on my old realm. Everyone already had their fire resistance trinkets, so nobody went back, and I got pestered big time at Onyxia for not apparently being able to solo the place.
I've also never tried a Baron 45 run, Lower Blackrock Spire, or BRD (but I have PUG'd that at normal levels since TBC). It was UBRS, Stratholme or nothing in those days.

45 min baron was quite the experience back in the day. Not sure if I should look back on it with nostalgia or horror lol. It was a great feeling to get it done though.

Ive never done any of the dire mauls due to never being able to get a group for them, also missed some over ones such as deadmines, Maraudon, strat, scholo the reason being i didnt want to spend all day in lfg and summoning people only to have them leave 5 mins later and looking 5 hours for a healer when i could be doing quests
hpavc Aug 7th 2008 8:32AM
They key was always a problem for DM for a lot of people and the location is so crappy.
Jack Spicer Aug 7th 2008 1:13PM
"the reason being i didnt want to spend all day in lfg and summoning people"
At least you had these tools at your disposal - you realize that they weren't always in the game and yet people were still able to get groups.
Tinious Aug 7th 2008 8:16AM
I'm level 65 and have not run an instance yet - I've never seen the point. The nearest I've come to running Scholo and DM to get the Dreadsteed, but they were just quickies to the quest with 4 level 70 friends.

Hunter?
