Forum post of the day: Vicarious' legend

-Matticus
It was inevitable, it had to happen. Someday, the legendary bow, Thori'dal, the Stars' Fury would be handed over to a Rogue. It so happens this fantastic weapon dropped to the Vicarious guild of Area 52. Analogkid was awarded the bow in the company of two Hunters. Needless to say the Hunters are upset, and the post brought about an outcry from many posters along with a considerable amount of drama. Many believe that this bow belongs in the hands of Hunters, regardless of the situation.
Guild loyalty and preparedness are listed amongst the reasons why the Hunters were passed up for the legendary drop. Phase, from Vicarious defended the decision to hand Thori'dal to a Rogue:
Though I can't speak for Kharhaz on this matter I can see why he would want to give Analogkid priority on this over Tums and Zzerg. Analogkid has been raiding with us since we rerolled here and were doing kara and gruuls lair. He has had an excellent attendance and has given his best using full consumables alot of the time, even on farm content throughout all of raiding from t4 to sunwell and in this respect deserves loot, especially legendaries over people who transfered to our guild after we killed pre-nerf M'uru, a fight which i might add that was very trying for our guild.
Analogkid already totes both Warglaives of Azzinoth, weapons that are not available to the Hunter class. The OP, Rentaaki, reported that both of the Hunters that were passed up for the weapon found the affront to their loyalty to be disrespectful. Raid leaders do have discretion to distribute loot as they see fit. I'd like to believe that the guild has a system in place that justifies the distribution of loot. If the guild continues raiding, they may see Thori'dal drop again. It seems to me that the chances of getting another of these beauties to drop would be increased by giving it to Hunters first and then Rogues and Warriors. It's not my guild, and they can run it any way they want. For now, I think I'm going to be sick.

Wow.
This is just plain evil. Giving a Rogue the best hunter weapon in the game, when they already have twin Warglaives, is just sick.
I sympathize with my brethren hunters in Vicarious. Here's hoping you don't get cheated out of other loot rolls.

hmm... now we need a "noob" name for Rogues...
we got retardins, huntards, nublocks.... but what would a rogue be?
Honestly, I wont argue with the Glaives for either side, if rogues and warriors and such dont need it, sure let the hunter or who-ever have it if BT is on farm, same with the bow. But when there is a hunter or hunters that could use an upgrade like this, it should go to them. You only break their loyalty by pulling this BS.
Hell, a Prot warrior deserves this bow more than a rogue, since that extra bit of DPS and armor ignorance equals a bit more threat.
If rogues want to stick to ranged weapons, stick to your shurikens you wanna-be ninjas, and before anyone says anything, I do have a rogue, so shush.
CursedSeishi Aug 7th 2008 2:46AM
Oh, forgot one thing.
Does that rogue need any legendary polish for his e-peen? With that many epics, and him rolling for it against a couple of hunters, I think he's trying to compensate for something...

A nickname for stupid rogues?
How about 'Roobs'? Sounds like 'rube'.
Or you could just call them rogues I guess.

Noob rogue= Rouge.
Sallix Aug 7th 2008 2:48AM
The name of his cloak is quite suitable.
Badger Aug 7th 2008 10:58AM
Did you notice the name of his Arena Team, Sallix?
Nluvnit Aug 7th 2008 2:51AM
From a practical standpoint, I find that decision to be quite stupid. I'm sorry. If you want your guild to be successful you never give loot to a class that can only get marginal use out of it when another class will get full use out of it. Giving the bow to a hunter was the only logical choice. If this had been a ring, or a cloak or something like that then absolutely and I'd support it 100% but that was not the case. A bow is a hunter's primary means of DPS. It would make future runs more successful by making sure your guild is well geared. It's the only intelligent choice. The rogue, if he truly was loyal and always thought about the guild first would never have taken this over the class that would have benefitted most from it. This decision was based on greed, plain and simple. This crap about the hunters being new to the guild was just an excuse.

"If you want your guild to be successful"
They downed KJ, I think they're pretty successful already. Epic QQ though.

Am I the only person to realize that this may be the first time 3 legendaries have been equipped?
By the time you guys get into Wrath endgame, these weapons will just be for vanity. Albeit, kickass vanity weps.
Taytayflan Aug 7th 2008 2:53AM
Also, ask yourself this.
Are you going to be able to see this content?
If no, STFU!
Gryphon Hall Aug 7th 2008 7:21AM
These hunters have seen the content (they were there, after all), and they are complaining. Should they just shut up and "hope" that there aren't any other "friends" since Kara who would want some more oranges so they can have their turn?
Taytayflan Aug 7th 2008 2:55PM
I'm not saying the 2 hunters in question shouldn't debate, hell, i'm a rogue and i think they should get Thoridal.
My point is is that it's a guild issue, not a whole WoW issue.
Revoldt Aug 7th 2008 2:54AM
Big Whoopie..
They beat the game over a Month ago.
Who cares what weapon/gear they have now.
Does having a Legendary Bow make their hunters kill KJ 10sec faster? - Doubt Vicarious cares.
If all you care about is gear, wotlk won't be kind to your purplez...
Renataki Aug 7th 2008 4:17AM
t6 and the legendary bow will most likely be usable till the 2nd raid instance, and the bow till the 3rd.

Usable, maybe, but optimal? No, the best gear in the game will rival level 78-79 blues, but when you start raiding, you'll begin to replace them again, all this does is save you time you might have to spend doing level up 5 mans as well
CursedSeishi Aug 7th 2008 2:56AM
okay, just another little thing then im done with this.
The rogue has no life, you cant kill that which has no life, so lets give these hunters a couple of Swords of a Thousand Truths and be done with it
Kyr Aug 7th 2008 2:57AM
Ahh, this old argument. How I missed standing bent over Ragnaros' corpse only to see the Eye go to a paladin because he was a personal friend of the GM.
This sort of thing will never stop, you know. As long as there are drops off bosses, people will find ways to screw with the system and skew it to their advantage, to the detriment of others.
They will claim it being done in the name of friendship, fairness, power and sometimes just for laughs, but it will never cease. I wonder how people are going to react when we'll start seeing artifact drops. They'd already sell their own mother for something orange - how far would they go for red?
CursedSeishi Aug 7th 2008 3:07AM
oh i have a pretty good idea specially if they know each other or live close by
Artifact drops, people start fighting for it, then one person, who lives near the GM goes
"Dude gimme it please, I'll suck your ****"
Sure enough, he does it and he now has a shiny new artifact to wipe up with.
