The
official site for
BlizzCon 2008 is now up. The launch prefaces the ticket sales for the event, scheduled for
August 11. If you're considering going to the Anaheim, CA event, you can check out the website for all the information you need from hotel & travel accommodations to the various panels throughout the weekend.
World of Warcraft-related panels include discussions on class design,
PvP,
WoW art, dungeons & raids, and UI & mods.
The event, the first BlizzCon to be
televised live, will also see the finals of the Global Arena tournament. Even if you're not interested in Arena PvP, there are a bunch of other contests you can participate in (or watch for your amusement), such as the ever-popular costume contest, dance contest, and even the
machinima competition. Details aren't up on the site yet, but you can bug them on their
FAQ about that.

You get a polar bear mount if you purchase the Direct TV Package. Dunno if you were aware of that or not.

$2.50/hr is still pretty cheap entertainment.
Anyway, what I would love to know is what TIME the tickets will go on sale.

WoW expensive stuff imrite?
I hope these one has more fun stuff then.
The last event in france was free but lame.
It gaved too much focus to Arena and some to raiding but had the fun stuff left behind.
The dancing wasnt that good and the costumes got little atention.

P.S when you make your reservations, you might not want to mention Blizzcon at first. ~ I made reservations last week, but a phone call to the same hotel today suggests that the "Blizzcon rate" that we got is actually $50 a night MORE than the standard rate.

To those that THINK this is a 39.99$ live stream, please check again what it says
"Through a partnership with DIRECTV, BlizzCon 2008 will be televised live for the first time"
Note where it says its TELEVISED...meaning that its going to be on television in America. Not at all a live stream as it use to be.
Oh and another thing, its only for americans since DirecTV does broadcast its content over satelite and thats not anywhere near europe. so everyone thats non-american are going to get excluded anyways.
