Cro Threadstrong. Ever since we arrived in Shattrath, the guy's been yelling about the Fruit Vendor's cart blocking his way, and this isn't just an annoyed angry, it's a full-on, all-out, apple-crushing war kind of angry. And though we somehow missed this in among all of the
Wrath beta news lately, we've now been invited into the trenches -- Cro is
now selling his own crushable apples so players can walk right over
to that Fruit Vendor, crush apples in front of her, and tell her ourselves: "YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME, FRUIT VENDOR!!!"
So much fun. As you can see in the gallery below, the apples let you cast a quick spell that shows a spurt of red juice flowing out from beneath your feet, but the real fun here is yelling for no discernable reason. "Did you see that, Fruit Vendor? The Ogre will not protect you! Do you not value the life of your apples?!?" And how funny it would be if Granny Smith really did turn out to be masterminding a war.

Remember in Around Azeroth, in Nagrand there's an island with a skeleton on it surrounded by apples and a fruit cart.

Am I the only person who just doesn't think that whole apple seller thing is funny?
I have a great sense of humor and get lots of giggles out of other things in the game that are equally pointless and silly, but for some reason the apple vendor drama just falls flat for me.

Cro Threadsong is not funny now, nor has he ever been funny. He is probably the most cringe-inducing part of the game for me. If you spend any amount of time in Shattrath, you will hear the same failed attempt at humor enough to make you contemplate suicide. Blizzard needs to understand that humor is their weak point and to concentrate on content, not chuckles. Please take Cro out of the game ASAP. I'll contribute gold to buy out whatever business he'd be losing if he would just disappear.

Actually, I love Cro, but most people don't seem to really listen to what he's saying, and so they mistakenly think that Granny Smith is the Fruit Vendor in question.
Some of Cro's comments include:
1. "Does this fruit vendor not value his life? YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME FRUIT VENDOR!!"'
2. "Who is this fruit vendor to make such a bold move? He's brought an ogre for support."
3. "Does the fruit vendor think that I am blind? Do they think I wouldn't see his ogre reinforcement?"
4. "HA! The fruit vendor must be scared for his life. He's enlisted support. Well two can play that game."
It's pretty apparent that the Fruit Vendor in question is a guy, and the fact that the cart still hasn't been moved might indicate that the true Fruit Vendor isn't even in Shattrath...
There isn't anything to indicate that the Ogre is connected in any way to Granny Smith, either.
There was a thread investigating this a while back in the forums. It lead to a floating island in Nagrand that has a corpse of someone who was clearly murdered, with a bunch of apples scattered all around... So it may be that the Fruit Vendor was already killed, but not by Cro, since Cro is still trying to get the cart moved.
The floating island in question is over the lake just south of the Throne of Elementals.
