These awful glyphs are pretty demonstrative of blizzard's opinion of the shadow spec...some unwanted sideshow to their interpretation of the priests' class. You guys seem to forget that blizzard wants to pretty much to minimize the usefulness of shadowpriests. From the original unsolved problem of mind flay range (ask a SP on VR how much you risk death using this spell), to the lack of a permanent aggro dump (lol Fade), to the awful +dmg scaling of mind blast, to the new nerf to vampiric touch, Blizzard wants to relegate shadow to a leveling spec and a niche raid debuff to allow warlocks and mages to shine. I'm fine with how awful shadow priests are at PvP because I see Disc as the "PvP spec", but with the lack of progress incorporating shadow into a solid raid role (hunters and pallies give mana back to their party now), I'm quite dissapointed.
The lack of a buff to mind flay, our bread and butter, and ditching the usefulness of vampiric touch (I don't see the damage scaling to fill the -3% nerf) have all but guaranteed that if I do decide to waste more of my time in WoW when the xpac comes out, I will only be using a shadow spec to level my priest, because the usefulness of shadow is going the way of the buffalo.
