It's simply a bad idea. Consumables are NOT required for raid content unless you undergear the encounter. Once you have dropped that boss a few times and gotten gear off him, the load lightens. When you have farmed him for months on end, consumables are completely useless and you've moved on to higher content. Consumables are what give you the ability to down the boss the first time, not to keep downing him when you have the gear to farm him.
