So you're wondering just how much of a tank the new Tenacity hunter-pets are going to deliver. Well, we're gonna try a few things and let you know.
We obtained a level 70 Warp Stalker and trained it up nicely. Welcome to Tanking Pet City, population, Us.
First on the agenda, we're going to hunt down a beastie that, when we first found him, required a party of five to eliminate: Uvuros in Shadowmoon Valley.
Uvuros is a 70 elite, has 69,000 health, and has a mean fire-breath spell. /hot!
Can a hunter with a Tenacity-pet solo Uvuros? Let's try!

Hehe thanks BRK I always enjoy your vids. I tried to solo this guy on my shaman back in the day. I didn't do so well.

Um...wow. A lvl 70 hunter PET can now tank a 5-man elite?! I don't think I like that and there's a definite possibility that'll be nerfed.
Wonder if Warlock pets will be buffed up to that level as well...

doubt it... blizz seems to have a philosophy that no pets should be near as good as hunters... even if its the other permanent pet class's...

Nah, we'll just get too much QQ from ev-ery-one that we're OP, when all we want is have some utility for the groups we're trying to get invited to.
More and better demons should happen, but won't.

It happened at the end of vanilla WoW and now as TBC's end is near it's happening again; hunters aren't that overpowered, it's just that gear has scaled to the point where they can do stuff like that.
Also, Uvuros isn't that big a deal, just an elite with some specials, not a boss by any stretch - we're definitely not back to the hunter-soloing-Azuregos days.

Not to detracted from anything in the movie, but Uvuros is hardly a 5 man boss. I drain tanked him on my Warlock as a Priest helped DoT him and heal me. He died. Now, that's still a lot different from a Hunter pet tanking, but Uvuros really isn't hard enough to take 5 people.
Still, interesting move BRK.

Meh, my sl/sl lock in her pvp gear can solo this dude. 14k hp and ~1300 shadow dmg = pew

Yes warlock pets need the same buffs and bonuses hunter pets get.

The big deal is that the pet was able to hold aggro off the hunter.

Actually Blizz poster has specifically stated they want hunter pets to OT 5 man instances and Tank Group quests:
"...that we want pets to be able to hold their own threat against a hunter. This is especially true when it's just you and Bitey out on your own, but ideally a tanking pet with the proper spec will be an effective offtank for 5-player instances, or even a main tank under some circumstances (say a group quest perhaps)."

The new talents in the Tenacity tree help but this was mostly about the 2 piece Tier 5 set bonus and the misdirect in the beginning of the fight.
