I hate to be "That guy" but I can't take it any more. These wowinsider crosswords are not prober crosswords. There are strict rules on the design of crosswords. They have to be symetrical. That is the point of the puzzle. They are supposed to be difficult to make and difficult to solve.

These wowinsider puzzles are free form crosswords, as proper as any rotationally symmetrical one. Publishers may have strict rules on symmetry, but that's based on tradition, not some definition of the term crossword. And all sorts of rules and traditions exist for different countries and writing systems, but the puzzles are still called "crosswords". Besides, what term did you have in mind for these wowinsider puzzles, which have, um, crossing words?
