Around Azeroth: Love is blindness
Say what you will about the addition of blood elves to the Horde, but they've certainly opened up some interesting dating possibilities. Alisha left her blood elf bank alt sitting on a bench in Silvermoon City while she went AFK. On her return, she found that her banker had been befriended by an ambitious orc in her absence. Alisha managed to snap a quick pic before her embarassed paramour ran away. He might have been more successful in a tux with some flowers -- I doubt that blood elf girls are attracted by bearskin outfits. Then again, as a troll with a tauren boyfriend, I can't really judge.
Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more sunsets or pointless geopolitical spam in Trade Chat.

It's not easy being green.

I wouldn't say love is blind. In fact love can see very clearly indeed. So clear in fact that if two people are not attracted visually to each other the relationship won't work.
Love is blind is the mantra of the ugly.

I'd say it looks like one of those first dates where they are trying to find something to talk about.
I sit on benches a lot in silvermoon for some reason, and never see anyone else doing that. Yet once I'm doing it people always run over and sit beside me. O_o

Please don't feed the troll, folks.

"Love is blind" doesn't refer to physical attractiveness. It refers to characters flaws in lovers that the other is blinded to by the emotion. Such that when the initial lust starts to wane, many couples split up.
But at least we know now that Naix considers themselves to be hot.

"It refers to characters flaws in lovers that the other is blinded to by the emotion."
It is still a silly saying then. If your blind to the character flaws of another then how can you be attracted an in a relationship with them? Loving someone would mean you know a lot about that person, including their character flaws. If you know there character flaws you would not fall in love with that person to begin with. So the "love is blind" saying has to do with how visually attractive the person is.
theRaptor Aug 11th 2008 11:46AM
Uh Naix you obviously don't understand what most people call "love". That is, purely physical based attraction/lust. Most people are referring to an irrational emotion when they say "love".

Successful troll is successful.

@ theRaptor
Emotional love is imposable without the physical attraction first.
Throck Aug 11th 2008 4:11PM
I'm going to recite Naix's sage philosophy to random blind people to put them in their place.
Chaos2Frozen Aug 11th 2008 11:34AM
@Naix
Actually, it means to love them DESPITE knowing their flaws. You know what's 'wrong' with the person, but you still love him/her anyway, either by choosing to ignore the flaws, or by accepting them.
"If your blind to the character flaws of another then how can you be attracted an in a relationship with them? "
Simple, because there is a greater part of that person's character that attracts you to them. Be it beauty or personality.
Naix Aug 11th 2008 1:05PM
How could you love someone with major flaws? For us major flaws is a deal breaker.
Badger Aug 11th 2008 2:45PM
"For us major flaws is a deal breaker."
Who the fuck is "us?" Stop Trolling.
Naix Aug 11th 2008 3:51PM
Us is everyone who is not you.
Badger Aug 11th 2008 10:14PM
"Us is everyone who is not you."
Cute. Now stop speaking for anyone other than yourself.

Actually, the post's title is not "love is blind", but rather "Love is Blindness" (mad props by the way), a song by U2 about the blind, insane, and deadly things we can do in the name of love (specifically it seems to be about the "Troubles" in Ireland and a car bomber). WoW case in point: the rise and fall of Kael'thas Sunstrider, who married an orc... um... I mean bargained with demons for the love of his people.
Wildhammer Aug 11th 2008 2:45PM
*Facepalm*
Guys, it's quite obviously a reference to the U2 song "Love is Blindness", chill out. =P
Badger Aug 11th 2008 2:46PM
Thanks for being reasonable, Wildhammer ^^
real-O Aug 11th 2008 2:53PM
Love doesn't exist.
Lol Aug 11th 2008 3:17PM
This is hardly news. Everyone knows blood elf girls will jump on anything.
