"more attunements or unlockings that require the whole server"
Fail.

Seriously. Why try to make whole server attunements? Didn't they learn from AQ? That was a pointless train wreck.

Not at all. I would much rather do an unlocking once with the entire server's help than spend countless hours doing the same grind over and over on my alts. I think this is really for the best.

I wasn't around for AQ but on The Venture Co. the Horde joined up and made sure AQ took forever to be opened by not turning in cloth.

I don't condone these actions, but it's still funny and good for a laugh since I wasn't playing then.

Um, Sunwell was not a bad way for things to go except the frigging ravagers quest for the alch lab. . . . took my server WAY too long because of the quest itself the oftn buggy nature of it. . . We got about 50% of that opened in the first 3 days then after that it was 1%-2% per day until we got into the low 90% range. We unlocked it less than a week ago. All the other stuff was good we were within the top 15 on all unlockings of the Isle until that point. All in all I thought the Shattered Sun offensive was a good idea overall. I like the way that serverwide unlocking worked, AQ = horribly long, while it seemed like a good idea it was implemented poorly.

Exactly so, Jaynitan. They've definitely have made mistakes, but they learn from them. Attunements can be neat and interesting the first time, and rarely the second. After that the quest-line is usually tedious and fairly boring. Server-wide attunements solve this problem. Heck, if done right they can even explain how 25 (or 10) people can take down Arthas -- the rest of the server did a lot to weaken him before the instance was even opened.

While I kind of like the idea of unlocking stuff with the entire server. The drawback for me is I raid (casually) on 2 different toons - so I have to choose one or the other to be present during the unlocking to get all the swag (titles, tabards, pets, special weapons, etc).... There are benefits to both kinds of attunement. Indiv can offer more gold overall and lets both toons get something (like maybe a headstart on rings or something) but unlocking as a whole is nice cause I only got to do it once...
I will prolly be happy no matter what.
