Breakfast Topic: Buggy memories

Take, for example, the screenshot above. It probably doesn't count because it happened on the Wrath beta and of course there are bugs there, but it was the beginning of a night that made me laugh for hours. If you can't tell what's going on... I'm piloting an airplane, my buddy tried to hop in with me but his chair is floating a few feet over my head for some reason, and someone decided to park their siege tank twenty feet up a wall, inside of the wall. That pretty much sums up the current state of Lake Wintergrasp, in case you were wondering.
If that doesn't count, there's the time a few years back when some friends and I ran Zul'Farrak, and a basilisk we aggro'd threw us twenty feet backwards for some reason, into another basilisk that threw us right back. We cried tears of laughter through about twenty minutes of the two basilisks playing catch with our flailing bodies before we were coherent enough to try and figure out what the heck was going on.
Do you guys have any memories like this? Do you ever wish you could go out and do them again for the nostalgia of it all, or are you pretty content keeping it a one time thing?

Ah, I remember that bug, haha. Flying around Southshore was all sorts of fun with that. We would "fly" over to Tarren Mill and were invulnerable for one reason or another so we just kind of ran circles around the Horde there :)

My favorite (and most notable) bug was when my guild was doing the chess event in kara. We beat the event without any trouble, and when I right clicked the "Control Piece" buff, instead of putting me at the top of the Gamesman's Hall, like it normally does, I found myself about 200 feet in the air, OUTSIDE the tower of Karazhan (yet still in the instance itself), with the ground rapidly approaching. Needless to say, I couldn't get a rez, and had to walk back :'(.

Once in Arathi basin, the gates opened and I was mounted up and going for the mine. Then I see this druid cat flying through the air overhead like he was on some invisible magic carpet and he lands at the flag. I'm not sure if that was just a lag moment or an exploit or something. He was faster than me with a riding crop though, so I have no idea what that was about. Was sort of funny to see though.

When the yeti cave in Dun Morogh was temporarily annexed by the Alterac Mountains zone, thus causing any unfortunate noob who died there to end up rezzing at the entrance to AV. And as luck would have had it my hearthstone had 20 minutes to cool down.

Really early in live, we were running the Deadmines (our highest level was 25 and I think no one on the server was over 40 yet) and Van Cleef bugged. We pulled, and 5 of him came running out. I think we just stood there in shock and took as many screenshots as we could before the inevitable wipe =)
On a subsequent try, there were 3 of him, and we actually got the first wave of his little stealthed friends to appear. 3 Van Cleefs + 6 adds.. it was hilarious!

I've experienced the "disappearing boat bug" - stranded out in the middle of fatigue water. Let the good times roll.
My favorite tho was a bug, I don't remember what patch, where paladins could perform a certain level of judgment of righteousness and suddenly found themselves mounted on a black war kodo. Now *that* was fun.

The Corrupted Blood Plague was without a doubt the most epic, and memorable bug ever. Period.

I once look the zeppelin from org to uc, but when I arrived, I was floating 10,000 feet above Hammerfall, slowly drifting west.. Couldn't hearth, as it thought I was moving.. I was stuck up there for about an hour until some nice people summoned me back down..

*took the zeppelin rather... good thing I'm still working on coffee..

I remember four manning Warp Splinter as my priest, with a pally tank, a fury warrior and some other random class. The warrior died and as I moved to avoid some adds, I went out of combat, told the paladin to heal himself, I rezz'd the warrior and we downed the boss. We laughed for a long time about it and it still gets brought up.

Running a low level friend through Ramparts, we were killing Vazruden and Nazan so quickly that it didn't count. We'd kill Vazruden before Nazan would land, thus forcing the entire encounter to start over again.

I always laugh when I catch a flight and the gryphon/bat/what have you doesn't load in immediately and it looks like my pally is flying. Every time I see my pally in full plate armor zooming along I can't help but crack up.

My favorite was an occurance in Molten Core clearing up the ramp towards Sulfuron and Executus, across the bridge that runs next to Golemagg. One of our druids at the time got spooked IRL by something, and accidentally threw his mouse across the room. This bugged the game a bit, and he kept right on running... off the bridge and on to Golemagg!
Not only did Golemagg aggro, but his doggies bugged hardcore and immediately flew up to the ceiling before chasing us back to Garr's room. We were howling with laughter over Vent as these core hounds flew around the top of Molten Core for 5 minutes, hunting down cowering raid members!

Gnomeregan, well not specifically Gnomeregan, but the elevator leading down. I had an entire party wipe just on that because one person glitched into a wall and died, then we had to rez him, but the timing was off and our rezzer died, It was ridiculous.

I remember one of the small patches after BC 2.1 or 2.2 they introduced automatic stacking of items you get from the mailbox except it was bugged. If you zoned out to a different continent or outland all the items that were stacked would just disappear. The game was pretty shaky almost the whole day.

This sounds hilarious. Is the video still out there?
Cetha Aug 11th 2008 1:10PM
this was a silly one.
it was a few years ago when my priest was running ulda (clearly a few years ago cuz people actually ran ulda then) and the last boss totally bugged out on us and he wouldn't leave my priest alone...but he wasn't attacking..he just followed me everywhere i went...zoned out and zoned back in and he continued to do the same thing..very strange

My guild was running down the ramp in kara away from shade's library and someone accidentally pulled a magical horror in the room we decided not to clear. Because the raid was dispersed it made quick work of those nearby and it was advised to just take the death and let those who were still coming to rez. My boyfriend decided to try to escape and jumped on a ledge and got out of combat but the mobs were glitching. They seemed to reset, ran back but then brought the whole room to him, basically just stared at him while out of combat. So he jumped to suicide and while falling took a burst of damage from the mobs with out them hitting him and died before reaching the ground.

Not sure if this counts, but horde shamans can kill the flight master of the alliance town of Astranaar, without having the griffins attack you. Simply start the fight while standing on (water walking) the nearby river, and the FM will come running over, but the griffins will evade and fly away.
