These BS sockets have got me wondering how much min-maxing would be acheivable through dropping professions once you have their BoP stuff and levelling another.I guess JC BoP "unique-equipped" gems would be the easiest to stockpile, stuff like extra BS slots or ring enchants would need refreshing when you get new gear...

It wouldn't work, A profession's BoP items stop working after you drop the profession.

Yeah, when you socket your gloves or bracers it adds "Requires: Blacksmithing (450)" to the item as well as the socket. Sadly, when you drop BS you lose the ability to use the newly socketed item. This doesn't happen with the buckle, or it would be about as sellable as your average stack of grenades.Engineering/Blacksmithing here I come. On use haste + 20 Str gem on my gloves? Yes please.

In regards to Min/maxing with lving different professions, I believe it could work with taking ench/jewelcrafting first, for ring enchants + JC BoP gems (which both correct me if I'm wrong you can use without having them as your current profession) and then dropping one and taking BS for example (I assume they will add other class-specific stuff for each crafting profession). The question is whether you will have a set of gear worth that effort until the end of the WoTLK cycle -or ever -, seeing the way that blizz hands out gear these days.Really really wanting glad for arena season 1 (hey the fancy crafting prof. gear might only be worth it season 1-2...stormherald?) of WoTLK could be an example.
