What they should have done was use a drawing system, like Figureprints does (only with more supply). Give people a week to register interest in tickets, so there's no mad rush that they obviously don't have the server capacity to handle. Realistically, that kind of capacity is really expnsive to put in place for one day of ticket sales.
People would complain about that instead, but they'd have been doing so without having to hit F5 every 30 seconds for two days.

Maybe they only wanted to sell to those dedicated enough to take a day off of work and stare at at their browser for 13 hours? Clearly they are the "true fans". That's right. You want Blizzcon tickets, you gotta EARN em!
