Yes, I imagine if Dell sold laptops with the proviso that the buyers would get a beta key then there will possibly be a legal backlash. I say 'possibly' because it would depend on the exact wording of the agreement. Did the Dell deal guarantee entry from the start of the beta, or was it a guarantee that you would gain entry at some unspecified point in the beta? Whatever the case it is not a shining example of how to maintain good customer relations.
