First look at Tailoring in Wrath
Leatherworking wasn't the only profession to start seeing some love in the latest beta patch. Among the others starting to be implemented is Tailoring. When I say 'starting to be implemented' I really mean just that. It's a start. Tailoring especially screams 'I'm not done, seriously!' when you look at what there is to offer. Not that that's a surprise, of course. It's still early in the beta.If you want to look at what there is to offer, check out the gallery below. We have images of each of the patterns that have been implemented (sort of) in this beta build. A lot of the items are completely bare of stats, which is unusual for sure. It's possible that it's just a display error, but there's always a chance these items haven't really been itemized yet, and were put in early so you can start skilling up to test the big stuff on the way. It was suggested that these items may possibly have random stat distribution upon creation, but usually there's a 'Random Enchantment' note on the items in that case. Oh, if you were wondering, the Magic Carpet isn't there yet.

And the new green set "Frostwoven Power" actually seems to look good compare to it's TBC equivalent Netherweave Vestment by looking on the icons.

nice to see they have more than one set too

Wut? Bolt of Frostweave trainable at 350? Looks like I wont have to struggle with skilling up those last points on my mage then. I'll just wait for the expansion.

At least I dont have to buy all the Gigantique bags from miss Pilton anymore, waiting for the bags to come, I bet would be 22 and 24 bags, like in BC, 18 and 20 ones.
Also Im still waiting for the default bag to be increased as well, they promised that to us, I remember, some time ago. Gief bigger bags for crapper lewt!!
seam Aug 14th 2008 8:11AM
Last I checked, they are 20 slot for the frostweave, and 22 slot for the other, equivilent to the Primal Mooncloth
Bbcversus Aug 14th 2008 8:11AM
Lets pray for 24 ones, it looks ugly with only two slots in the upper row (bags interface that is), really ugly... :P
Moar bag space, never is enough!

The reagents for the cloak enchants are just a single rune thread. That's AWESOME! I'm sure it'll change soon enough, but that would be awesome if it made it live.
Charlie Aug 14th 2008 11:16AM
Lol no thats not it, those are merely placeholders. Much like hte 25 voids for wands are placeholders.
As i also doubt that the thred enchants are only going to be 2 eternals and a thread (versus 10 primals and a nether and a thread).
I had actually met someone who had saved up over 100 voids so he could craft the epic wand to the top level right when he was able to. This is why you don't do stuff on live until beta is finished >.

The new tailoring net is "unreliable on targets higher than 83" whereas the Netherweave net was unreliable against targets higher than 72, are we getting level 84 raid bosses?
Bbcversus Aug 14th 2008 8:55AM
Every boss in the game is with at least 3-4 levels above anyone. Even Onixya/Ragnaros, whoever has the skull, scales in levels to maintain the skull ON, lets say.
So I think we will fight some over 84 lvl bosses in Wotlk, especially if this expansion gives us some more new awesome bosses to fight.
Badge Aug 14th 2008 9:05AM
My point was that there are no level 74 raid bosses in BC, but this seems to imply that we may see some raid bosses in wotlk that are 4 levels above the new player level cap.
Zali Aug 14th 2008 9:47AM
I'm sure they're just doing it to maintain appropriate level itemization. Anti-Venom from First Aid doesn't scale all the way to lvl 70. The Jungle Remedy that drops in STV doesn't cure higher level diseases. If it did I would farm that crap so I always had a stack with me just in case. I doubt that the level cap of these nets is as much about how high the bosses go in Wrath, as it is about what level will you be learning to make the next net in the expansion that pops us to lvl 90.
Charlie Aug 14th 2008 11:18AM
I doubt it, its possible that they just want them to be usable on raid bosses now.
Also with the crushing blows change (crushing blows only happen on mobs 4 levels above, instead of 3 levels above currently), and them removing crushing blows from raids. it would be silly to be lvl 84 bosses in there.
So Zali said, its just to maintain itemization. Don't want to be able to use frostweave nets on high level dudes in the expansion after wrath (assuming there is one).

By the by, in the last Blizz podcast the guy in charge of crafting specifically pointed to Frozen Shadoweave as a place where they "definitely overstepped the boundaries."
So don't expect anything as good as Frozen Shadoweave in WotLK.
Zali Aug 14th 2008 9:51AM
Sorry? You lost me here. They overstepped the bounderies with frozen shadoweave, so don't expect anything as good as frozen shadoweave?
Warigami Aug 14th 2008 10:19AM
Yeah, unfortunately with all the other professions complaining about the tailoring sets, combined with comments from Blizz about the sets being OP, I'm guessing us tailors are probably going to get the short end of the stick this time around. I hope not but I just get that feeling....
sphere Aug 14th 2008 11:28AM
In other words, Blizz believes that Frozen Shadoweave set was overpowered. In WotLK, we locks probably won't get crafted epics that were as great as they were. The traditional response of Blizz is to make the profession underpowered in the next expansion, but we'll see what happens I suppose.
Mingus Aug 14th 2008 10:17AM
It surprised me to see the pants embroidery for tailors only. I figured getting cloak embroideries would be exclusive enough. Anyone think Blizzard will add any more embroideries for tailors?
On Nets affecting up to Level 83, I do not think that means that Bosses will be Level 84. I think it means that some Bosses will be able to be netted. Making bosses Level 84 will majorly throw off some of the math used for stats. A significantly higher amount of Hit Rating and Defense Rating would be required, and itemization values could get really out of whack.
Lastly, 8 piece sets from crafting. Is this a sign that 8 piece sets may be making their way back either through dungeons or raids?
Hoggersbud Aug 14th 2008 10:42AM
Not really, what it seems to be is either indecision about what items are going to be in a set, or an attempt to give people more options to choose from to get the set bonus.
Petrus Aug 14th 2008 11:52AM
The BoP spellthread isn't too surprising for me. They're doing the same for LW, after all.
