Well, yes technically all our human characters start at level one in Northshire, and gradually make their way out from there. But one thing I don't encourage is for everyone to roleplay their in-character story that way. In fact, I'd say it's much better for most people to keep levels 1-15 or 20 out-of-character for the most part, and have their in-game story start in some other way, because it enables us to be a lot more diverse in our backgrounds. You could say you grew up in Duskwood, for instance, after the orcs were defeated but before it became so gloomy as it is today. Or you could say your family owned a ranch in Westfall that has been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times because that's what humans do and that's who we are -- life may beat us down again and again, but we never give up. Both of those are loads better than "I started out in Northshire! Oh.. you too? yeah... so did... everyone else..."
