BlizzCon ticket lottery details out now

Learning from the experience, Blizzard announced early on that the next batch of 3,000 tickets would be sold via lottery, giving everyone a fair chance at attending the event. There are quite a few limitations, such as having an active Blizzard Account that was created on or before August 12, when the first batch of tickets sold out. Note that a Blizzard Account isn't the same as your World of Warcraft account or an account for other Blizzard games. It's an account made specifically for their online store, so wannabe attendees who haven't created an account are flat out of luck.
Also out of luck are residents of countries that aren't the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, or South Korea. So yeah, all you Blizzard fans in Zimbabwe, I'm looking at you. Alright, the Philippines isn't on that list, either, so we're all on the same unwelcome boat. Just like the Wrath Beta, Blizzard will hold an opt-in period for Blizzard Account holders and will pick 1,500 lucky chumps from those who opted in, allowing the purchase of up to 2 tickets each. Learn more about the details on the BlizzCon lottery through their BlizzCon FAQ.

I just love how they ignore spain, like in the last downtime, free play credit for everyone but spanish realms

No love for those of us without accounts BECAUSE of the massive failures on Blizzard's end, which is pretty disappointing. . .

Thank you WoW Insider. Thank you for creating an issue out of nothing and backing Blizzard into a corner that didn't exist.
Who cares?

Wow, WI has that much power over Blizzard policy and operations? I smell conspiracy!
Is this also why the Horde always wins EoTS in my battlegroup!?

even though people can go to the blizz ticket lottery faq, the most important thing people wanted to know was 1-would people who had a blizz store account who had already purchases tickets be eligible for the lottery, and to everyone's relief, the answer is NO. only those who created a blizz store account before 9pm Tuesday August 12th are eligible and you can not have already purchased Blizzcon 2008 tickets, they also state that those people who already were able to get tickets will still see the ticket opt in, but that those account will be removed from the opt in whether or not they opt in or not...ok, that was a bit of a tounge twister...
but this new makes me very happy, i was one of those people who got on super early as soon as the site was letting you create a store account and then i verified my account email and then got almost all the way through the ticket purchase, i was able to do that several times, but never got any charges or anything, i still consider that i should have had tickets then but still ended up with none and i tried and tried non stop for those whole 2 days, i shouldn't have had to do that seeing as how i should have had tickets first thing monday, it just sucks that it all went down like that...but this at least gives people like myself a small chance and glimmer of hope that we might get a ticket or two...
i know some people are gonna be like "this is unfair, i bought tickets and i have more friends/family that wanna go", but if that was the case, you should have purchased the max number of 5 tickets, and you couldn't expect that everyone would be able to go anyway as it is hard as hell to get tickets every year, and it is only gonna get harder and harder each year...
this chance is for people like myself that were on early and should have been able to purchase our tickets and got screwed out of the purchasing process, not for people who already got tickets...
so hopefully next year blizz will make the event even bigger and do more than 15,000 tickets, i don't know how many people and exibits the Anaheim Convention Center can hold, but i am willing to bet it can hold at least 3 times that many people, and believe me, i think that many tickets would still sell out....here's hoping for things to run better next year...

Also if you guys don't get chosen in the opt in you may still have a chance as everyone is not going to be purchising the 2 tickets and there will be some left over.
