I still like coming across a rare in the old world. I may or may not have killed it before but it's just exciting to kill it now because it's rare. But I don't think the loot tables for rares are as exciting as I remember them. It seems as if the change from elite to non-elite has meant a drop in the quality of loot. It seems to me that's been across the board. The cries of "Oh look! A rare!" have been replaced with "What's that? A rare? If it comes this way, I'll kill it." I wouldn't want Blizzard to have loot that came only off some rares because getting some things is frustrating enough. But if you kill a rare pig, you want it to drop something of quality, not a mangled boar snout and coins.
