I have never really seen the distinction between warrior and hunter guns. Yes, some were more desirable due to their speed, but pretty much all ranged weapons are for hunters first. I had read somewhere on this site that Steady Shot no longer interferes with Auto Shot, so if that is true you can throw out all ideas about warrior/hunter guns and the speed of the Nessingwary gun is actually good for hunters. I get the impression that the authors for this site don't really think before they speak about new features (but I still love you, I visit Wowinsider every day).

Warrior guns have +stamina, and, in this case, +defense, stats that hunter's don't really look to stack on their guns.

I don't know about you, but as an engineering hunter, I don't see any benefit in wielding a gun which gives me a bonus to my Stamina, hit rating and defense. Okay, yeah, Stamina could be nice for PVP, but the gun gives absolutely no Agi, AP, haste or Crit rating, which are far more useful to hunters than having increased Defense. The purpose of this gun is to give warriors something extra to put into their ranged weapon slot to increase their stats. After all, we too are taking melee weapons that compliment our stats that affect our ranged attacks. So saying ranged weapons are first and foremost for hunters is a bit pretentious, since most hunters I know would pass on this gun because of the additional stats.

@Anaughtybear - Warrior -- or tank -- guns, as in the case of the Nestingway 4000, is loaded with Stamina. If you had bothered to check the stats of the gun, you would've seen that it also has +Defense and +Expertise. Useless stats for Hunters. A faster gun is also more desirable for pulling.IIRC, Steady Shot deals base weapon damage +X. In many -- but not all -- cases, a slower weapon has a higher base weapon damage. I get the impression that the readers of this site don't really think before they comment on new posts (but I still love you, I read your comments every day). =D

The only hunter first weapons, be it ranged or melee, are the ones that are labled HUNTER. All others are fair game to any class that can use. I personally cant stand the idea that because your class is best suited for an item that you should get it. Thats like saying Pallies can't wear mail healing gear because its for Shaman.
