The three short spiels, which have been compiled into one sound file, have the Lich King mocking the inhabitants of Orgrimmar and Stormwind. Although Arthas doesn't seem very creative with taunts, calling the Horde 'pups' and 'brash upstarts' and the Alliance 'fools' and 'naive children'. The voice is also sort of generic bad guy, almost sounding like Illidan when he was screaming, "you are not prepared!". Perhaps Blizzard used the same voice actor. The last monologue has Arthas being repelled... again.
It seems like he suffers a lot of defeats early on (he loses in a staredown with Tirion Fordring, too) making him much, much less threatening as the expansion's ultimate bad guy. Blizzard promised that players would feel his presence early on in the game, but having the ultimate villain lose makes him seem weak. He beckons players to Northrend, sort of like a bully taunting school nerds to come to a dark alley where all his bully friends are. I hope Blizzard changes this a bit before it goes live, particularly the voice of Arthas, which should be more like that from the cutscene in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. That sounded very cheesy. Very standard.
Can't wait to see Varian amass those troops through Stormwind harbor though. In beta the harbor is already filled with siege weapons, chock-full of guards and other NPCs. Exciting stuff. Orgrimmar seems be changing slightly as well in beta. Less exciting though..

Lore Lesson:
The Lich King was an ORC who as now joined with Arthas' body/spirit. Of course his voice is going to change. The voice sounds very much like a cross between a human and an orc.
And of course he would be pushed back. they are hardly going to decimate Azeroth at the opening are they?

That was suppose to be Arthas? If Arthas was a orc, it could be possible but sounds nothing like him and it shouldn't be.

Either way, they sound nothing like what is linked here. It's a different character.

Possibly, but in the audio clip he refers to the Lich King. I thought it would be some sort of advisor for Arthas. If it is Arthas, then he would be talking in third person. But in the last part of the clip he refers to "his minions" so it must be Arthas.

yea im pretty sure thats Ner'Zhul's voice rite there, they DID merge after all and the Lich King cant be usin Arthas' voice ALL the time. Although of course the voice theyve been usin for him so far before this is way kewler. >=D
I say that if Blizz plans on usin this, there should at least be some sort of video to go wit it showing Ner'Zhul in some way as the Lich King... or something

I dunno guys. I doubt this is the Lich King talking in these files. Could be Darion Morgraine for all we know. >_>
Or some other Death Knight or Crypt Lord or whatever the Lich King uses for Generals in the Field.

Either its not the lich king, or Blizzard realizes that everyone is so wrapped up with the name Arthas that they dont even realize Ner'zhul (the orc) was the original lich king. So imo they are bringing Ner'zhul back, and this voice sounds orcish and the words he used sounds like it would be used way back when Ner'zhul was an orc.

What happened to the voice from the old trailer that was like "All will serve...the one...true...king..." that was much better compared to this.

Doesn't really sound like the Lich King to me... It sounds more like a minion in command that has been sent to attack Orgrimmar and Stormwind.

I think people should stop jumping to conclusions the moment a tiny piece of info pops up.
This could be the Lich King, this could be a lower officer type who is leading an attack on the cities.. You don't know at this point.
I personally don't think it would be Ner'zhul because they are fused, yes. But it's arthas' physical form infused with Ner'zhul's wisdom and power. I think Arthas would retain his voice. And it was already shown he has in the trailer.
Not to mention, the voice in that clip is way to angry and brutal. Even as the Lich King, Arthas would be more collected than that.
Ner'zhul is not the Lich King anymore. Arthas & Ner'zhul are. As one, fused being. It's just easiest to refer to the Lich King as Arthas because that's what his physical form resembles.

Maybe the years and controll over vasts armies of undead have taken its tool on the Lich King?
There is no Arthas and Nerzul, there's only the Lich King which is a whole new entity after "Now...we are one!"

So here is what I'm hearing. Sounds very Orc like, not so Arthas. Ontop of that he states "The gaze of the Lich King is fixed upon you." If this was really the Lich King himself speaking, wouldn't he just say "My gaze is fixed upon you"? I don't think this is Arthas speaking, and if it is, needs some MAJOR work imo.

Personally, I'd have said that sounds more like an abomination or death knight than either an orc, ner'zhul OR arthas.

Near the end you hear the new voice of the Lich King, which really doesn't sound much like this at all. Nor is yelling/taunting the style of Arthas or Ner'zhul I believe.
And the "minions" line could indicate that this is a commander of the Lich King's, but still a servant to his lord.
