The Last Guardian is probably my favorite of all the books. Lord of the Clans and the others you recommended also fit in. The Knaak stuff... well someone at Blizzard must like it since they keep going back to him.

As far as I'm aware, he and Metzen are very good friends.

So that explains why he hasn't been savagely beaten.

The Last Guardian is my fav to. I dont see why people are so against the Knaak books, personally i liked them very much

I would rather read a John Norman novel than anything Knaak ever wrote, WoW related or otherwise . . . and I would rather scratch out my own eyes than read a John Norman novel.
