This seems to be lining up suspiciously well with the Warhammer scheduled release. It also seems a bit early to be releasing the new talents and abilities. I figured they wouldn't be too nervous about Warhammer, but maybe they are? It all just seems so sudden to me.

I was thinking the very same thing. Maybe they didn't want people to forget about them amidst all the hype that Warhammer is starting pick up. I believe their release date is around Sept 18th, which lines up closely with "the coming weeks" give or take a few weeks or this new content patch.

Defo a WAR counter measure. Which is a good thing. If Blizz senses a threat to their (virtual) monopoly they rise to the occasion.
The consumer wins in the end.
