Over the past week we've run a couple of polls asking you all what
classes and
professions you plan to work on when Wrath hits store shelves this year. (At least we're all hoping it's this year.) And how better to start off a new week than by looking back at the results! For classes, we have: Death Knight (18.7%), Paladin (12.9%), Hunter (11%), Druid (10.2%), Mage (8.8%), Shaman (8.6%), Warrior (8%), Priest (8%), Warlock (7.2%), and Rogue (6.5%). Before you ask if the Paladin changes are really that good, I'm just going to jump right in and say yes, yes,
yes. To my Paladin friends in the audience, happy days are here at last! To my Rogue friends in the audience, take heart in the fact that Rogues haven't been fully reviewed (Blizzard seems to be making updates one class at a time), and there are probably changes still to come for the class.
For
professions, we have: Inscription (26.6%), Engineering (14.4%), Gathering (10.9%), Blacksmithing (9.7%), Tailoring (9.2%), Alchemy (8.6%), Leatherworking (7.2%), Enchanting (6.8%), and Jewelcrafting (6.7%).
It's no surprise for either of these polls that the latest and greatest
Wrath content is at the top of the list, but will it live up to the hype? Are you sticking with the old or diving right into the new?

Paladin Alchemy Herbing
Wulf Aug 25th 2008 8:12AM
I'll be sticking with my Shaman because I love it and it seems that the class is going to be getting a nice boost. And i'll stick with the alchemy cos ppl always wneed pots. However, that inevitable Death Knight alt will give me a chance to try something very different and level up another profession.
Effectively, I want to keep going with everything i've worked on, but a bit of variety is going to be fun as well!

I'll be going with my hunter as my main with skinning and lw as proffs when Wrath goes live.
Really looking foward to it.

I'm a loyal priest, but I'm wondering if all we know so far is really all that is in store for us? I can't imagine us surviving very long against all those nifty tricks the Death Knights will unleash at us... and most other classes will be constantly interrupting our heals, stunning us, knocking us back, etc.
Hunters also seem to be getting a lot of great new abilities and talents, with the backward saltos and all that jibber jabber. What can I still hope for?

If I'm still playing as I do now, I'll be leveling my warrior to 80, followed by my mage and my rogue (Then maybe my druid), Then I'll created a death knight, get him to level 58, and never touch him again.
But with a new year of university starting in a week, I may find myself choosing to spend my time staring down a beer bottle rather than playing WoW.

I will stick to my enhancement shaman and my warrior. I'd actually love to switch mains to my shaman (let me do some DPS for once guys :'( ) but it's inevitable that my guild will need a tank at 80 to run the content, so I suppose I'll be levelling him first. Also, I'm sticking to my profs, LW for the shammy and BS for the warrior. BS finally gets to craft shields? Hell yes!
Of course a Death Knight will be created, probably with Inscription because I just want to test it all out.

It is a little frustrating to see that Paladin is going to become a "Flavor of the Week" class. I've rolled an alt here and there, but my Paladin is my first love. I've slogged out some hard times, watched as some trees became more useful and some were nerfed into the ground. I realize there are some people who really like the idea of playing a Paladin but couldn't handle the mediocrity we get saddled with. On the other hand, I don't like knowing that there are going to be a large number of people rolling a Pally because they saw a crit on YouTube for "OVER 9000!!!"
Oh, and to see people stepping up to Engineering...
It's like everything I have loved doing in spite of the lameness is now the "in" thing to do. This is the inevitable conclusion of being balanced, viable, and desirable I suppose.
Rikus Aug 26th 2008 8:17AM
Its just like everything though. I remember lock being the flavor of the week and now it seems noone is interested. That just leaves the people that liked being a lock no matter what the buffs/nerfs. I am cool with that. Same goes for your pally, all the bandwagon riders will go somewhere else in due time. Plus, your knowledge will be better than theirs anyways!

My two mains are a Pally & Lock :)
Good vs Evil
I really like my Pally as it was my first. And after suffering through years of being Ret, it will be nice to be seen as a true DPS class.
Rugus Aug 25th 2008 8:28AM
Sticking to my main hunter, as it seems we'll see major changes to this class. I'll then finish leveling my 2nd toon (warrior) just for titan's grip :)
vey_kos Aug 25th 2008 8:30AM
I'll stop using that snapshot from the trailer.

Ill be sticking with my rogue :). I dont have time to level through another 70, exepty a death knight, but guilds will be full up on those.
Eternalpayn Aug 25th 2008 11:01AM
Same here. Plus I love my rogue, and I love leatherworking. I'm gonna roll a DK on my RL friend's realm, so that I don't have to level a character from 1 to play with him.
Deathgodryuk Aug 25th 2008 9:05PM
My rogue will always be my favorite. I may have to change specs for raiding in wrath but either way the new rogue talents still look nice, even if they aren't as flashy as the new paladin stuff. We were already awesome, poor pallies needed the help.
F0REM4N Aug 25th 2008 8:38AM
I will be sticking with my Druid, hopefully ion Balance. I wanted to play Death Knight but am forsaking that for Wargghh! (Warhammer Online)
Grand Rapids MI is cold and snowy in winter, so I'll have time for both, /yay!
Scott Aug 25th 2008 9:13AM
I'll be leveling up my Warlock. Love all the new Demonology changes, and looking forward to it!
/agree with FOREM4N! I'm also from G.R.!
Aaron Aug 25th 2008 8:41AM
I jumped head first into JC and paid the price... JC is a great proffession- every guild needs one- but for you personally, it kind of sucks (at least, for hunters).
Not falling for it this time. Im staying LW for good gear upgrades.
Zali Aug 25th 2008 9:11AM
Mostly leveling my Resto-Druid and Prot-Warrior. I'll probably play a little bit with the death knight, but out the door it will be a mad rush to lvl 80. I started playing WOW two weeks before BC hit the shelves, so I was really behind the curve with end game by the time I dinged 70. My current guild is 4th or 5th in progression on my server at the moment (depending on the day and who's raided who,) but we have pulled back a bit and are focusing on gearing up as broad of a raiding base as possible through T4 so when Wrath hits we have the raiding base in as good of a position as possible to start plowing through the new ten and twenty-five man content in Wrath.
Where BC for me was all about solo-leveling, for me and by pal-arounds Wrath will be all about raid leveling.
I'm really jazzed about Wrath.
doug Aug 25th 2008 9:15AM
Probably going to blitz my hunter to 80 as fast as I can to get into the raiding of WotLK as soon as possible (skinning/mining along the way for some serious cash). Then I'm going to level my paladin up and his tradeskills (alc/herb). Finally after both of those toons are settled at 80 I'm going to delve into a death knight and probably do herb/insciption.
Kiukiu Aug 25th 2008 9:16AM
First thing I'll do when I load up Wrath will be to log onto my Warlock and go into Daemon form and AoE some rats in the trams for lawls.
Second thing I'll do is load up my Paladin and say "CC/DPS LF any instance".
Third thing I'll do is make a Death Knight with my wife and we'll start the long grim task of levelling them surrounded by complete retards that look exactly the same as us.
