WotLK bestiary update: The wendigo
The WotLK EU Bestiary has been updated with a new creature: the Wendigo. Rumored to be related to the wendigo living in Dun Morogh, the wendigo of Northrend seem to lurk close to their caves. And, like other family-minded spawns of Northrend, these wendigo are fiercely protective of their relatives. The Bestiary warns of "the sound of their savage bellows," so I definitely hope to see some kind of sonic-based attack from the cool looking monster. The Bestiary also talks about the wendigo's bone-piles, so they might have a little more habitat in their spawning areas than we're used to seeing.
Like Alex mentioned previously, the Darkfallen are the hypothetical next-to-be-revealed monster. But there's only three unrevealed mobs on the total list, so at worst, the Darkfallen have a 33% chance to be the next spotlighted critter. I'm most curious about the Proto-Dragon, so my money says that's going to be the last one detailed.

Wasn't the Darkfallen supposed to be.. the 2nd one revealed? I'm betting that's the last one revealed.. because nothing is known about them.

Does anyone know if we are gonna be able to skinthese suckers? Love to have the rogue pickpocket, kill, loot, and skin!
Hoyce Aug 26th 2008 5:40PM
I think I saw on the beta last night that they were skinable.

Darkfallen are just WoW's annoying elven vampires who are there just to add fire to the Elf hating community and the lame generic emo vampire fanfic community.

Who the fuck down rated me for that?

"these wendigo are fiercely protective of their relatives. The Bestiary warns of 'the sound of their savage bellows,'"
Sounds more like another "X calls out for help" sort of things, that should be every bit as much fun as that cave in Un'Goro Crater, you know the one with all those dirty apes. (by every bit as fun, I mean I really hate seeing two more creatures run in to join the fight by the time I kill the first one)

That looks like another beastie that could be descended from the Troll race. Perhaps splitting off back when the Night Elves did.

Fel Reavers of WotLK? Maybe...

Wasn't this that creature that was in the cinematic for the Death Knight? I don't have a link to it though...

I can haz tame?
Ichigo Aug 26th 2008 9:00PM
I've love to see that, but I doubt it.

Wendigos currently are humanoid, and I suspect the new ones will be the same. Ergo, they aren't tameable.

Yellow mob bears many similarities to sylvannus Windunner. For starters, they share the second name, and are both rangers, which sylvannus was famed for before her demise to arthras, also, they are both high elves, could this be a relative??

Veresa is definitely Sylvannas' sister. It's in one of the Knaak books. So is Alleria, who is lost somewhere in Outland, though she does have a town (Allerian Stronghold) named after her.
