Legal and ethical Issues in MMO gaming (The gold-farming panel) Back by popular demand, come and let your "Inner Johnny Cochran" out for an hour. If the gold is farmed, who gets harmed? Who really owns all that stuff that you work (play) so hard to get or make? If you came to Dragon*Con seeking legal advice, you should probably seek professional (psychiatric) help. If, however, you want to come and get into a good discussion, then this is the place to be. |

WoW Addons MMORPGs in general, and World of Warcraft in particular, never seem to have a user interface that does everything we want it to. There are millions of addons out there that promise to do everything from dress you appropriately to cast your spells for you with a simple click of the mouse. How do you find them? What is dangerous? What's coming in this next patch?? Krystalle Voecks and Mark Crump have some answers that may help. |

World of Warcraft: An evening with WoW Insider & Massively Here it is. The one you've all been asking for since last year, when we packed not one, but two rooms and had to turn away 300 more people because we couldn't cram anyone else in the door. The WoW party is back with a vengeance. Come and represent the Alliance or the Horde in a battle of epic partying. We're going to punt gnomes, nerf warlocks, and make last year's get together look like a tea party. Oh, and we'll have some schwag too. You know, if you're into that kind of thing. I was pretty disappointed with the wow meet and greet this year. Last year seemed to situate the room in such a way that it forced others to mingle and talk and what not.
This year with the tables setup, people were already stuck in pre-made groups. Since it seemed to go nowhere too quickly, I bailed pretty early (after the for porn song).
Couple of suggestions:
1. Eliminate all but 5 or so tables to keep people on their feet or at least forcing them to mingle.
2. Have a better ice breaking event. The dodge ball event was fun (if not tiring... yes, I was a participant). Make a silly game that rewards people for talking to each other. People will do retarded stuff for the smallest of free swag.
Here is some additional constructive (hopefully) criticism... the add-on panel was poorly conceived. It appeared to be dumb luck that ck Knight was attending the con and able to provide valuable insight during that panel. Otherwise, it appeared we were going to be treated to a new UI enchancement from the beta (calendar... which isn't an addon) and there was no attempt to compile a list of BESTS until the attendees chimed in.
To leave on a positive note, WoW drama panel was funny. Oh, and the nicely dressed NE Shadow Priest was cute. Peace, and see you next year.

i stayed until someone started creating a runeblade in wrath for the demo death knight. i have to agree with what Thomas said except the comment about the NE Shadow Priest. Where was this costume? I only saw three people in costume along the left wall.
side note, i'm sad that i never saw the music, dancing and Drinking krystalle mentioned a few times at the beginning of the night. i got it, but i had to go up up 2 floors to a Harry Potter Prom. There was music, drinking and dancing and like no Harry Potter people.

Maybe she was BE, as she was on the horde side when I pinged her with that football... The ears were a giveaway though.
