I did it pretty simple, my main is a mage, i runned with him few heroics from lfg and when i met some skilled tank/healer/dps i made friendship with them...
Bit later i had an skilled Pala tank, Druid healer and Priest healer and a Rogue... It was pretty easy to make a group cause i went to 90% heroics with my Prot Pala friend who is pretty good geared and skilled, i usualy picked one of my friend healers and rogue if he is online... I filled hole with "lfg" ppl and we went pretty well... I have never realy needed guildies for heroics :D
