I've had some great times in PuGs. I've pugged everything from Deadmines to Hyjal.

People tend to remember the bad runs instead of the smooth and easy going ones. It's the same as a gambler remembering all the wins and never the loses, except the other way around.
Unfortunately there is also a minority of people who go into the run thinking that it's going to fail. With an attitude like that it's doomed from the start. As long as you stay clear of that small minority, it should be all clear sailing.

Stay positive, relax and remember that everyone else in the group is there for the same reason as you... It's only a game. =)
