International Space Station has a keylogger
NASA has confirmed that the International Space Station has been infected by a keylogger. It was carried onto the station by an astronaut's laptop back in July. The keylogger in question is the W32.Gammima.AG -- which is specifically a gaming keylogger. In other words, the ISS has the exact kind of keylogger that plagues so many of us in WoW.
NASA describes the keylogger as merely a "nuisance," but at least two of the laptops on board had the virus. That probably means it arrived on one laptop, and a removable device like a thumb drive carried it to another. Kelly Humphries, a NASA spokesperson, said "This is not the first time we have had a worm or a virus. It's not a frequent occurrence, but this isn't the first time."
For security reasons, Humphries couldn't say whether mission-critical systems were affected by the keylogger. NASA is working with its Russian partners to figure out how the virus got space-born.
Here's hoping the International Space Station has their Blizzard Authenticators installed properly.

so really its just all about a semi associatable story and just insert wowtalk.
its not a slow news day. theres lots going on. it just these bloggers are gatherers. they cant find their own news to report. they just copy and paste stories and add their own opinions to other websites news reporting.
whitcomb is the exception.

It was an interesting article and I see no reason for them not to post it on wowinsider. It pertains to an mmo-account stealing virus on a space station. Who knows the dude could have been up there playing WoW!
I think we should all petition Blizzard to create a new achievement. First Player to do X while in orbit!

I didn't realise Blizzard had a space region of servers.
Ametrine Aug 27th 2008 1:15PM
Yeah... and the lag on the Ganymede and Io servers are a real pain in the ass.
ScorchHellfire Aug 27th 2008 4:32PM
well there already was an astronaut who played starcraft while in the space station so why not?...
oh and a big LOL to the freaking space station getting a keylogger! you would think that with the efforts of several countries to make something so high-tech they would be able to defend it with such a mundane threat...
hoviboy Aug 27th 2008 12:52PM
LOL

So I had good reason to be suspicious when Buzzaldrin whispered me with gold spam to check out NASAvipWoWgold.com
Bromnir Aug 27th 2008 3:21PM
Well, at least selling gold would help them alleviate their budget problems.
For Squirrels Aug 27th 2008 1:04PM
My guess would be it's a slow news day...
