Target suggests Paws and Claws if you can't play Warcraft

Can't get your World of Warcraft Battlechest fix because Recruit-a-friend has sold out all the copies at Target? Worry not, because Target has got just as great a substitute for you: Paws and Claws Pet Vet 2: Healing Hands. Because when you can't conquer the tower of Medivh or slay beasts in Nagrand, the next best thing is playing a mediocre attempt to grab the money of kids who want to grow up to be vets.
Yeah, it's pretty sad, but then again, Target employees aren't necessarily videogame players. And even more sadly, what exactly does it say about PC gaming when the next best seller to WoW is a vet simulator?

yeah, this only works if you wanted to play a resto druid.

It's been a while since I've worked retail, but I would hazard a guess that they just named whatever they had most of in stock. They probably list that game as an alternative to any other game they have out of stock.

Actually i work at Target and we are videogame players...it's just an unfortunate thing that when something might be on sale in the ad and they run out aside from getting a rain check they'll occasionally put out those tags to substitute the item for something ridiculously opposite the actual item >.>
Monarch Aug 27th 2008 2:38PM
To be fair, we only look at price point and availability when choosing a substitution. And come to think of it, items in Entertainment aren't supposed to be substituted, they're supposed to be rainchecked. Hmm...sounds like someone needs a coaching.

Perhaps you should add a "hilarity" category.
We are sold out of:
"The Kama Sutra"
Please substitute:
"World of Warcraft"

Really? I never knew that, back when I had that horrible job I substituted in Electronics all the time, is it a new policy? I even remember we did those substitutions seperate from the other substitutions in the morning.
Looks like its store number T-1374 about (90% positive)

Give them a call and ask if they have World of Warcraft Battle Chest in stock and ask what their substituting when they say no, then when they tell you they are substituting that, get incredibly excited and tell them to hold one your on your way!
Have fun calling and harassing them!

I hear they have a great Recruit-a-friend program too!
TotalBiscuit Aug 27th 2008 2:45PM
Stop encouraging people to play druids, there's too many of them already.
Kiyoko Aug 27th 2008 2:51PM
And here I thought that Hello Kitty Island Adventure was the preferred WoW substitute.
Nork Aug 27th 2008 2:52PM
Hunters can practice Mend Pet :D
arcady0 Aug 27th 2008 6:20PM
That's what I was thinking. With half the hunters and warlocks out there, they might not notice the difference...
Skarlette Aug 27th 2008 3:09PM
I LOL'ed IRL. Nice catch.

Why would they be sold out of battlechests for RaF? Triple XP only goes to level 60, so you don't need BC, duh.
Oh you mean people actually recruit RL friends for RaF instead of leveling an alt on a second account? Really?
-p-

World of Warcraft vanilla: 19.99. World of Warcraft Battlechest: 14.99.
Hmm. I'd pick the Battlechest.
Todd Aug 27th 2008 4:38PM
Umm no they aren't $14.99 (thats the Paws price).
The Battlechest is currently on sale this week at Target for $29.99 ($10 off regular). I know because I just bought mine yesterday. ^^

@p-diddy
I recruited a real friend! It's genuinely an awesome way to get new players into the game. They get through the first several levels quickly and get guaranteed playtime with you.
vlad Aug 27th 2008 3:21PM
funny?
jake Aug 27th 2008 4:42PM
very!
Druanna Aug 27th 2008 3:40PM
So hold on... Target is selling the Battle Chests for $14.99?!?
They're $30 on Amazon, and $40 at Wal-Mart and Gamestop...
Todd Aug 27th 2008 4:40PM
No the sale price is $29.99 (regularly $39.99).
